Hawking HWU8DD Vista Driver crashing Win 7. I just purchased new desktop running Win 7. Old system ran on XP. XP Driver would not work. Installed XP driver. System runs for ~10 minutes and crashes (nasty blue screen) with various error messages. It doesn't appear they have a Win 7 driver yet. Thanks

There will be no win 7 driver as win 7 is no longer supported by Microsoft
to get a driver , you have to go to the manufacturers web site , find a down load for that model that is compatible for win 7 operating system
win xp is also not supported by Microsoft so there will be driver problems there as well

If the OEM is not making a driver then your probably out of luck. You may have to go back down to Win XP or sell or return the item. Not all manufactures have caught up with Win 7 drivers so you need to make sure there is a driver for the equipment you purchase.

Do I need Windows XP Mode?
Windows 7 has several built-in tools to help with program compatibility and Windows XP programs should be installed directly on Windows 7. Windows XP Mode runs many older Windows XP productivity programs and that are not natively compatible with Windows 7, thus helping realize cost savings and reduce possible operational downtime by extending the life of existing software. Visit the Windows 7 Compatibility Center to find software that works with Windows 7.
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/windows-7/en-us/default.aspx

It's the best of both worlds: The new Windows XP Mode lets you run older Windows XP business software right on your Windows 7 desktop.

Designed primarily with small- and medium-sized businesses in mind, Windows XP Mode comes as a separate download and works only with Windows 7 Professional, Ultimate, and Enterprise. Windows XP Mode also requires virtualization software such as Windows Virtual PC. Both are available free on the Microsoft website.

Where can I get a driver for a Xerox WorkCentre XD155df (laser printer/copier) for a 64-bit Windows 7 operating system. The Xerox web site says it does not have the driver and doesn't support the product...

you wont get a win 7 64bt driver!! they havent and will not develop one.. You can use the XP 64bt driver and install it manually in win 7 .. :) yeah a neat trick here is how.. download and unzip xp 64 bt driver files to a folder called FX on your desktop

  • plug printer into pc it will say new hardware found,,
  • wait for the wizard to finish and fail..
  • click start, right click computer, click properties then device manager
  • your printer will be there highlighted in yellow,, right click and select update driver,,
  • click searh a specific location and browse to the FX folder on the desktop.. click next and watch the magic..
  • if it says driver not supported (contine / cancel) click continue and accept the warning message..
thats it... Amazingly win 7 accepts vista and xp drivers in this manner..

My printer Canon LBP 2900 won't work on my new computer windows 7

There are none and I am sorry but there probably never will be, See this is the major problem with Win 7 anything over a year old generally just isn't supported.
Here is how to Install them so they work. Download your XP driver you wish to install. If it's in a zip/rar file then extract it to your desktop. You should have a simple .exe file sitting on your desktop to install the drivers, as normal for XP. Right click the .exe file and select "Properties". Then select the tab called "Compatibility" Now check the box next to "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" Make sure "Windows XP Service Pack 2" is highlighted. Now apply the settings and run the installer. This should work for most drivers, but not all Install and run as Administrator.

I search for a driver vista or win7 for magigcolor

If the manufacturer of the copier does not make a driver for vista or win 7 64 bit, then you can't use it.

I ran into the same problem a few years back when I upgraded to XP pro 64. I resolved the problem by utilizing Microsoft dual-boot feature. When I need to print or copy, I rebooted to my XP 32 bit system to do the work.

Eventually I purchased new equipment that was compatible with 64 bit systems

Probably, having more RAM would make VMWARE run faster.

Check the manufacturer's web-site -- surely, they have a version which *DOES* work as a "native" application under Windows XP and Windows VIsta and Windows 7, i.e., no need for "compatibility settings".

I NEED TO UP GRADE MY COMPUTER I HAVE WINDOW MILINIUM

You need to purchase a Windows XP or Vista installation disk with its Product installation Code. You can purchase a upgrade version cheaper than the full product, but you need the original ME CD.
You may not be able to purchase Windows XP and Windows Vista may not work efficiently on your computer because of the age of your computer and Vista is very resource hungry.
You may consider purchasing a new computer with Windows 7 as a better option. Windows 7 is due to be released in Oct.
