I fix a lot of plastic items with either super glue or 2 part epoxy resin.
Then for reinforcement at the edges. I take a 2cm (aprox) piece of thin wire. Like a staple. Then heat it with the soldering iron. sliding back and forth until the wire is embedded into the plastic. even slightly covered over.
This often makes a cracked piece of plastic quite strong.
It may not look great but it might hold you over till you find a replacement
Good Luck
Here are some ideas.... Repairing plastic parts
In many cases you can contact the projector manufacturer for replacement parts, The plastic (also known as the chassis) can sometimes be purchased separate. Although a crack should no effect the projectors operation unless it was dropped hard enough to cause a crack.
If it is just the cowling which protects you from getting your hands or clothing caught in the fan or other belts here 's a couple solutions. If it is just cracked and not displaced there is no problem, if it is displacing it could get down onto the fan and should be replaced
Hi there. You can order spare parts from Acer themselves or alternatively look on Ebay for spare plastics. It sounds like you need the lid face and bezel (plastic that surrounds the screen), as for disassembley i'm afraid its trial and error as you may have to take the laptop apart to replace the plastics.
if the back plastic piece is cracked it is no good, replace it with a new one.should also change the filter at the same time....inside the plastic piece there is a steel ball and a spring....also good idea to replace them also..if this unit has a glow bar you ill need to adjust the air pressure to the correct setting.if it has a spark plug the adjuster goes in jst past flush....there is a slight bevel in side that you should be able to see.
This screen has multiple layers of plastic before you get to the main screen, if the picture isnt affected, you've only cracked oneof the plastic pieces, these are cheap to replace
I have a brand new, never used (parts still in plastic, but no box) ULTREX Kitchen Preparation Center model 14008- Blender-Food Processor-Fruit Juicer that you could buy.
if the tv turn on this will tell you that the plasma panel itself is ok. if it is ok then the fron glass is replacable. this is just a standard piece of glass so i really wouldnt spend tons of money hiring someone else to order one and install it.
