I jump started the car and now my entire audio system is not working. My head unit never turns on and i have no music. I am trying to locate the fuse on the actual head unit but can't. Does anyone know where it is.

The fuse is in the black box tied in to the main power wire, the yellow one. open it up and the fuse is inside. if this has been cut off and your other fuses are fine, the unit did not have proper protection and probably fried from a surge or short cicuit . the fuse on the unit should be a 10 amp mini and no higher.

Dual XDVD8181 In-Dash 7" Touchscreen TFT-LCD. No power and can't find fuse location?

Question edited for a lot more clarity.

Here is the manual. This is an aftermarket unit unit so there will be an inline fuse on the power wire

This one is a good diagram and shows 10 amp fuse on the yellow wire to the battery. Make sure it is connected there at the battery, but the installer may have just spliced into a live feed up behind it..

My dual xdvd8181 head unit will not power on. i bought it used and tried the old power wires to positive side of battery and ground to negative side and nothing happens. the in line fuse on the power

When you disconnect your battery and then reconnect it again, it disables the radio. This is an anti-theft protection for your car radio.
The enable your radio the activation code is in your vehicle owner's manual. If you do not have this code you need to go to your vehicle manufacturer's service centre and get them to enter this code for you.

check on the main wiring harness you wil see a black box on the yellow wire. open up the cover. there is a 10 amp mini fuse inside. if it is blown replace the fuse. also check your main radio and accesssory fuses in your fuse box. if no fuses are blown check all wiring connections.

How to by pass the e brake wire

OK PEOPLE, I HAVE THE DUAL XDVD8181 just installed, you don't need to do any kind of code to get the video to bypass. this is what you have to do

Get a toggle switch, one that flips one way for ON, and the other way for OFF. connect parking brake wire (yellow/blue) to one end of the switch and the other end to the ground of the radio (Black wire) leave the switch in off position, turn on radio and insert dvd, when you get the blue screen, flip switch ON OFF ON wait 5 seconds and video will come on. That it fellas.

Tuner wont save settings

Hi Matt1983,

You must have Battery + power on both the Yellow wire at all times. To get the Radio to operate, you need power on the red and yellow wire. Battery neg(-) is also imprtant, Besure your Black wire is definitly connected to the frame of the care and you can read voltage from the supply power to the black wire. Sometimes you have to remove paint from the area you connect the Black wire.
