Utilitech #0192773 setting the timer for not working

I do not have repair for defective timer.
Open following link for clear large-print instructions.
http://waterheatertimer.org/Program-wire-Utilitec-0192773.html

Add a comment about part of manual that does not work, for possible additional help.
1) Timer replaces single-pole light switch only.
2) Timer does not have a battery and must be wired correctly before programming can take place.
3) Choose either dawn-dusk or programmable on-off:
Timer can be set for dawn-dusk operation
-OR-
Timer can be set with 7-day on-off functions of your choice

I have a utilitech 7 day in wall digital timer and would like to install it but have no clue how to. can you get me started

You want to install Utilitec in-wall 7-day timer that has 4 wires: red, white, black and green.

You are replacing a single pole switch that controls a light or several lights.
There is not a second switch that controls same lights.

The switch has 3 wires.
Generally there are two insulated wires and a bare ground wire.
Add a comment any time.

Here's what to do:
I have tested these timers for wiring and programming.
Get started and instructions will make sense as you go.
Turn off circuit beaker to switch.
Remove old switch.

1) Timer-green-wire connects to bare ground wire using one of the yellow wire nuts included with timer. Put two wires together so they are even at ends. Put wire nut over wire ends. Rotate wire nut clockwise between fingers until very tight.

2) Switch has 2 insulated wires. Take switch wires and connect them to timer-black-wire and timer-red-wire using two more yellow wire nuts. Choose either one for now. You may have to reverse these two wires in a minute.

3) In back of electric box are white wires twisted together and covered with wire nut. Remove the wire nut, but do not untwist the white wires. Connect timer-white to these wires. Then put original wire nut back over white wires.

4) If electric box does not have white wires described in step 3, then connect timer-white to bare ground, along with timer-green wire.

5) Turn on electricity, and push ON-OFF button. If lights come on, timer is wired correctly. If lights do not come on, then reverse timer-red and timer-black wires from step 2.

I can not get the timer to automatically turn off and on UTILITECH 7-DAY DIGITAL IN WALL TIMER

Utilitec sells two different 7-day timers.
Open following two links to identify timer, see manual, and read wiring instructions:
http://waterheatertimer.org/Program-wire-Utilitec-0192773.html
http://waterheatertimer.org/Program-wire-Utilitec-0141224.html

From description of problem, it sounds that timer programming is not correct.
Each event needs ON time and OFF time.
If ON time is set.but OFF time is not set, then timer will turn ON and never turn OFF.
ON and OFF times must match days with each other.
Also if programs overlap or conflict, timer will not operate as expected.

I think instructions for both timers say that programs can be reviewed by pressing PROG button.
Re-read manual carefully.
Write out parts of manual that are confusing.

Add a comment for more free help.
Also take advantage of fixya phone service.
For a price, expert speaks with you over phone while you work on timer or any do-it-yourself project.
Fixya is always less expensive than a service call.

Utilitech Self-Adjusting Wall Timer- #0192773. Unable to program timer. The instructions are so small it is hard to read them

Utilitec 0192773 is also listed as LW60419
1) Has optional daylight savings plus dawn to dusk programming
2) Electrical wiring must be connected in order to program timer. This is because timer is powered by electric circuit (instead of battery).
3) Program choices:
-Individual days MO TU WE etc
-All 7 days of week
-Weekdays
-Weekends

4) Large manual + wiring tips:images load slow with dial-up
