You can pretty much use any wireless mouse. There is really no right or wrong just make sure drivers that come with the mouse support your Operating System and every mouse whether online or in store will tell you which OS do they support. Most newer ones will support XP,Vista and Windows 7. You can get them at Walmart, Targer, Best Buy or any other PC store. Hope this helps.
This could be a number of problems, one or many. Some things to consider
1)
You may be infected with a virus or a bunch of spyware. Do you have
Antivirus and antispyware utilities? I recommend AVG and Spybot.
2) You may have a bad hard drive. Try booting into safe mode and run a dskchk and/or defrag.
3)
You may have some faulty memory. Boot into safe mode and right click on
"My Computer" click properties and make sure you have the right amount
of RAM listed in this area. If not you may need to replace your memory.
Sounds like this may be a driver glitch. Try uninstalling the drivers for the quick play buttons from the device manager, then reboot. It will find the hardware an reinstall the drivers. If the problem persists, then disable the buttons either in the system bios or the device profile in the device manager.
