Hi, try to boot into safemode, turn your system on then keep on tapping F8 to get the windows advance Menu screen, select safemode.

In the safemode windows go to Control panel and check your power options, you will see what time frame your system has for the LCD when turning off.

If this does not fix the issue, try booting into safemode with networking for you to be able to go online in safemode try updating your BIOS from your Manufacturers Website, Updating your bios may fix the issue.

Try connecting an external monitor and check if it has the same issue. If it does, then replace the LCD.

Hello you just have to upgrade the driver for the graphic card.

You can also use windows update

Visit lenovo here:

Or use the autodetect function

If it not helps with the driver your display has a defect
its not a easy task to change the display.
The local computer repair shop should be able to help you with that.

My Lenovo T60's Screen turns black with the backlight still on, the computer is running but i cannot see anything. What do you suppose is wrong?

Welcome to Fixya

The backlight must have turned Off. Look at the F keys ( F1, F2 etc) that has picture of the LCD. Press Fn + the key that has the LCD picture to turn on the backlight. If nothing happens, try to use external monitor. If you see the display using the external monitor then the problem is the LCD already.

Thank you for using Fixya!

You laptop needs a new LCD inverter. You can find them on the internet for about $15 or so. You can find installation instructions online, it's pretty simple.

My T60 Lenovo turns to black screen after a couple of seconds. What will I do is standby the system to restore the screen but the error will occur again after a couple of seconds. This usually happen when...

Boot up in safe mode (press F8 0on startup) on your normal login name. Once in safe mode disable the screensaver, then go to power options and disable them so that there are no powersaving features enabled.. Then restart into normal windows, and hopefully everything will be fine.
