Your onboard video card is going bad on you computer. Some shops may sale an external video device which can be installed in place of your onboard video and it will fix your problem. Average costs aer about $50. Before you try YET ANOTHEr monitor, please try to hook the computer up to a tv to see if the problem pesists, if so, it is time for the above video adapter

My BenQ G2220HD Monitor flickers. I've tried my level best to solve this problem but could not get rid of the flickering.

Try connecting it to a different laptop/desktop, to see if the flickering "follows" the monitor. If not, then the video-card in your computer is the problem -- try connecting another monitor to your computer, to see if the flickering still happens.

BenQ fp567 goes on a flicker mode and will not respond

The fault could be a faulty inverter or a faulty CCFL lamp.
The inverter supplies high voltage to the CCFL lamp, if faulty the CCFL lamp can flicker or not light up. The CCFL lamp is a mini fluro lamp, and flicks on and off when faulty especially as it ages.

Green light flickering & Sunset red screen display.

You've got components that have gone bad, probably from age and the normal heat inside a CRT monitor case.

I hate to say it, but it's really not worth fixing. You can usually find a used but working 17" monitor for under 20 bucks.

Check the connections at both ends of the cable to the LCD. If you've damaged the cable you can probably find a replacement on the world's most popular auction site.

Monitor flickring

  1. Flickering screen display

Flickering on the screen can be caused by defective hardware in the computer or by improperly installed software, but it can also be caused by interference from external devices. The following examples describe situations in which your screen could start flickering:
    • Screen starts flickering because of interference caused by devices which generate magnetic fields, for instance:
      • a TV set
      • a laser printer
      • another monitor
      • fluorescent lights
      • hidden power lines
    • Apart from interference, an incorrect setting in your system CMOS setup can also cause flickering. On some systems it is possible to distinguish between interlaced and non-interlaced monitors. The setup of your system should always be colour non-interlaced.
    • Proximity to the monitor of fans, air-conditioning units or other devices with rotating motors.
    • The number of devices using power from the same electrical line. Are you overloading the plug?
    • Monitor placed on an unstable surface.
    • Improper video drivers, this is a software problem, see section B
    • An improperly configured or a defective video card.

  2. Reinstalling the video drivers

    1. Start the computer.
    2. Click Start, select Settings, and click Control Panel.
    3. Double-click the System icon.
    4. Select the Device Manager tab in the System Properties window.
    5. Make sure that View devices by type is selected and locate Display adapters and Monitor in the list.
    6. Click the plus sign (+) in front of both items to get a list of installed devices.
    7. You need to remove every device by highlighting it and clicking the Remove button and OK when the warning message appears.
    8. After doing so for both items, they should disappear from the list.
    9. Close the Device Manager by clicking OK, and you will return to the Control Panel.
    10. Double-click the Add New Hardware icon.
    11. Click Next, select Yes when it asks "Do you want Windows to search for your new hardware?", and click Next twice to start searching for new hardware.
    12. This will take a few minutes and, after it is finished, you will have to restart the computer. Windows 95 or higher will automatically set up the correct monitor and video drivers.
    13. If the screen is still flickering, click Start, select Settings, and click Control Panel.
    14. Double-click the Display icon and select the Refresh tab.
    15. Change the Monitor Refresh Rates until the flickering disappears.
    16. If the flickering remains, go to step C.

  3. Troubleshooting

    1. If it is possible, connect a different monitor to the computer. If the flickering disappears, it is a fair indication that the monitor is defective, otherwise go to the next step.
    2. Set up the computer and the monitor on a different place in your house. If the flickering disappears now, it is most likely an interference caused by something in the original location. Check for devices which can cause interference.
    3. If the flickering persists, check the setup of your system. If available in the setup, make sure that the option Monitor Type is configured as Colour Non-Interlaced.
