Hello,
The wires that feed the speaker are usually attached on the back of the conical part of the speaker. They are usually soldered on two terminals.
Hope it helps.

DRIPS DURING STEAM PROCESS

Be sure no hairline cracks or pinhole in the steamer water container.
Put enough water level on it and not overfill it.
Repair hairline cracks or pinhole by applying epoxy or super glue in the surface.
Good luck.

I droped my 18 volt cordless B&D on the floor and

if it went to pieces when you dropped it, I'll just bet a manual won't help you, I'm thinking a case of super glue.

How to open and repair a short circuit inside the speaker

Probably, you'll need a Philips ("cross-head") screwdriver, to unscrew the front from the back of the speaker.

Or, it may be a "press-fit" (just try to "pull" the front from the back).

Or, it may be just glue holding the front to the back.
Slice through the glue, to "wedge" apart the two pieces.

Once open, probably, some solder, a wire-stripping tool, and a soldering-iron will be needed.

Talkabout T5800 (22 Channels) 2-Way Radio: droped in water will not transmit but will receved...

Depending on the type of microphone used, if not the type using the speaker as a microphone, it may be damaged. I would though, suggest you remove the battery, open the case and allow the innards to dry in a warm place for several days. Even daily exposure to the sun should work fine.

Cracked Rubber

what i would do is:
super glue the cracks, allow to dry and then use a silicone lubricant spray and let sit for about 10 min then wipe clean. silicone spray can slightly restore the rubber/foam

Deck is powering off every 5 seconds

If radio stays on at low or no volume and cuts out when turning up you may have your battery backup voltage (yellow wire) droping below 10v under signal load. There is a circuit called backup check in radio that moniters Voltage It may seem ok when measuring without volume but under load it will fluctuate with the audio. Try hooking up Heavy guage Ground and Backup battery wires to prevent voltage loss across wires under load. Also check for any speaker that may not be producing proper sound when and if you can get radio working Disconnect wires to that speaker to see if radio will stay on. Just a couple of many possibilities.
