You have one of two problems. Sometimes both.

Problem #1) CRT Fluid is Cloudy

Projection TV tubes have a liquid coolant that is used to keep them from overheating. After many years the coolant in the blue and green tubes will become cloudy and cause the screen to look dull, red/orange, etc. You may even see halos around images.

What you will need to do is replace the coolant and clean the crt. You can get a repair kit from www.TvRepairKits.com that includes replacement coolant, photos. instructions, etc.

Problem #2)

Your TV may have a convergence failure. ( common problem )

Here are some of the most common symptoms and example photos of a convergence problem

  • Screen looks 3D
  • Colors don't line up
  • One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu. Screen iHow do you adjust the focus lenses for an HCL5515w - 645fba6.jpgwarped.

You should be able to move them up, down, left, and right.

If you can't move them in all directions your convergence chips are bad and should be replaced. This is a common problem.

You will need to replace the convergence chips and possibly some convergence resistors and pico fuses. Its a fairly easy DIY job or you can hire a pro. If you want to do the repair yourself check the site www.TvRepairKits.com. Their kits include a step by step picture instruction guide, original OEM parts, convergence resistors, pico fuses, thermal paste, email/phone support, etc.

Need help adjusting the red green and blue lenses of ws 5589 mitsisbshi tv

If you are trying to adjust convergence---go into customer menu and select that option and then advanced---if adjustment there will not cure it circuit needs the chip/s replaced.

If you are talking about the lens---very rare they need adjustment--if picture is 3d looking do not adjust those which are FOCUS. (MANUAL FOCUS OF THE LENS)

My HVR-V1U has a focus problem. In manual focus mode, when I zoomed in and focus and then zoom out, it is not in focus anymore. But if I leave the camera in auto-focus it is fine. I don't see a way...

That's the backfocus problem. Take your camera to a Sony service.
If the lenses are ok, they will do an adjustment. If the lenses are defective, they will
replace the lenses, but that costs much.

I have recently moved my Sony 57" projection tv and the image is now blurry. I have tried adjusting the convergence manually but I'm no longer able to line up the crosses.

Adjust focus block, then adjust each of 3 lenses. loosen w/ thumbscrew, then turn cylinder to focus onto screen. Focus each by covering the others w/ typing paper, then tighten.

Does it take some type of gel under the lights, the colors are a little blurry

i also have this tv. i removed backcleaned mirrior, back of screen and lenses VERY GOOD. Then turned on tv go to convergence, sepaerate cross hairs then adjust focus on lenses. Then lenses rotate maybe about a 1/3 turn total by hand. Grab ring that houses lenses and turn until cross hairs are as clear as possible. This can be done with out help by watching inside of screen. red and green are adjustable, the blue is adjustablealso but i couldnt find blue cross hairs, maybe by covering red and green lenses the blue will show on screen. anyway when done and cross hairs are clear, lenses, mirror and screen are clean, you can adjust covergence and get a very clear screencleaning will also brighten pic. I bought these for my husband. In trying them

Difficult to answer specifically without knowing the model. But binoculars are designed to view objects in the distance. They all have a limit as to how close they will focus based on the magnification and design. Objective lenses that are far apart such as on a porro prism binocular will not focus very close. The nature of the design of having the objectives further apart than the eyepieces doesn't allow it. When trying to focus too close the image will appear blurred and double. That is the nature of the design. 9 feet or 3 metres is considered quite close to focus a binocular and is usually for a model designed to do this such as a roof prism where the objective lens and the eye lenses are inline. A specialty binocular such as the Pentax Papilo will close focus to 50 centimeters. It has been designed so that the objective (large lenses) lenses converge.

Take into account when focusing that binoculars are also designed to compensate for differences in each eye. One of the eyepieces either right or left will adjust seperately. For binoculars with a center focus ring. First focus using the center ring with one eye covered. The eye that should be covered is the one that doesn't have the adjusting eyepiece. When the image is clear close the eye you have just used and leave the center focus alone. Focusing on the same spot look through the eyepiece that adjusts and turn the eyepiece ring until the image is clear. Now all you have to do is focus using the center ring only as the binoculars are adjusted for each eye.

Some binoculars do not have a center focus and each eye will adjust seperately.

Samsung HCL5515W red convergence problem

sounds like your convergence IC's have fail and possibly a bad dcm. Some of there models have a small board with the ic's them. It may be cheaper to replace the board. But you can repair it if you have proper equipment

You probably just have dust build up on the lenses. You can remove the lower back (with the set unplugged) and once you have that done you now have access to clean the lenses using a soft cloth and wipe them down. Don't adjust the lenses as you will spend more time correcting a problem that you create by doing so. Good luck..
