No mouse control via wireless mouse, or touch pad

After working fine after starting up this morning, the mouse pointer on the screen froze, and the wireless mouse no longer worked. I shut the computer down, unhooked the wireless mouse. Now the touch pad no longer works either.

Just above your mouse pad is a small button. try pressing it. 2. Look at the function keys at the top row of the keyboard. If there is a touchpad icon, hold down the function key and that button. 3. Unplug the doggle from it's USB port and put it in a different one. 4. try removing and reinserting the mouse batteries (after checking them). 5.In Windows look in the control panel for mouse and check settings. 6. Right click on My Computer icon, left click on properties, left click on device manager -look for yellow flags first. Then find your mouse - possibly under HID (Human interface devices) to see if it is enabled. 7. If it is, click on drivers and try updating them.

IT SOUNDS LIKE YOU HAVE MAY HAVE DRIVERS OR IRQ THAT ARE CONFLICTING, TRY UNINSTALLING THE DRIVERS FOR YOUR WIRELESS MOUSE, AND REINSTALLING THEM, MAKE SURE THE WIRELESS MOUSE IS UNHOOKED BEFORE YOU REINSTALL THE DRIVERS.

HP 2530p EliteBook - touchpad stopped working. Scrolling works except touch scrolling on right side of pad) and right button, but that's all. Wireless mouse works fine.

To access Mouse Properties, select Start - Control Panel - Hardware and Sound -Mouse.

Use Mouse Properties in Windows to customize settings for pointing devices, such as button configuration, click speed, and pointer options.

Cursor jumps all over the place. My husband is ready to throw the computer away.

See if you are using Enhance pointer precision,if so try and turn it off. Click Start, click Run, type control mouse, and then click OK. Click the Pointer Options tab, click to clear the "Enhance pointer precision" check box, click Apply and OK. If you are using a wireless mouse try changing the battery. You can also go to the mouse control in the control panel.Uncheck the options to "automatically move pointer to default button". Also check the sesitivity of your touch pad , if it set to a high sensitivity and you barely touch it , it could register as a double click.

My toch pad is not working properly please help me to solve this problem the pointer is not moving on the screen

Did you swtich from touchpad to regular mouse recently?

If not plug in a mouse and go to control pannel and click on mouse icon.

See if the touch pad is turned off in that section, if it is turn it back on and unplug your mouse

If its on then reinstall the touch pad driver from your manufacture driver page.

If it still does not work you may have a defective touch pad that needs replacing

I hope this helps

Compaq notebook laptop: my mouse pointer or arrow is

If you have a manual for the notebook, check to see if you can use the function key and the similarly coloured key on the keyboard which enables/disables the touch pad. Usually you can disable the mouse pointer touch pad with this FUNCTION key + MOUSE key when pressed together. Often these keys have the same colour (usually blue). The purpose is to disable the touch pad when you are using an external USB or wireless mouse, then you press the 2 keys again together to enable the touch pad once you have removed the USB/wireless mouse.

If that doesn't work, borrow a USB mouse and attach it to your notebook to use temporarily while you diagnose the problem.

Re toshiba techra 8000

Some laptops have a touch pad between the keyboard and the edge of the laptop. This works like a mouse except you slide your finger around the pad to move the mouse pointer and the buttons next to the touch pad are the left and right buttons.
Other laptops have a small round button in the middle of the keyboard which is a mini joystick and it is used to move the mouse pointer around, it will have a couple of mouse buttons at the botom edge of the keyboard.
You can connect a normal mouse to your laptop, it is mush easier than using the laptop's touch pad or mini joystick.

How to set up mouse pad so it works with touch

Check in the control panel under mouse. There should be a setting to enable tapping. If there is a touch pad icon on the bottom right of the screen you can also right click on that and select options.
