After working fine after starting up this morning, the mouse pointer on the screen froze, and the wireless mouse no longer worked. I shut the computer down, unhooked the wireless mouse. Now the touch pad no longer works either.
Just above your mouse pad is a small button. try pressing it. 2. Look at the function keys at the top row of the keyboard. If there is a touchpad icon, hold down the function key and that button. 3. Unplug the doggle from it's USB port and put it in a different one. 4. try removing and reinserting the mouse batteries (after checking them). 5.In Windows look in the control panel for mouse and check settings. 6. Right click on My Computer icon, left click on properties, left click on device manager -look for yellow flags first. Then find your mouse - possibly under HID (Human interface devices) to see if it is enabled. 7. If it is, click on drivers and try updating them.
IT SOUNDS LIKE YOU HAVE MAY HAVE DRIVERS OR IRQ THAT ARE CONFLICTING, TRY UNINSTALLING THE DRIVERS FOR YOUR WIRELESS MOUSE, AND REINSTALLING THEM, MAKE SURE THE WIRELESS MOUSE IS UNHOOKED BEFORE YOU REINSTALL THE DRIVERS.
To access Mouse Properties, select Start - Control Panel - Hardware and Sound -Mouse.
Use Mouse Properties in Windows to customize settings for pointing devices, such as button configuration, click speed, and pointer options.
