Hi! I have a problem with my Sylvania LC320SLX TV. I purchased an HDMI cord to connect my satellite box to the TV, and it worked fine for a day or two. Then, one morning, I switch on the TV to find that the picture had a garish purple hue and no sound. I disconnected the HDMI cord and reconnected the satellite box using RCA plugs and it works fine, but with a constant buzzing noise in the background. I took the HDMI cord back to the store and exchanged it for another, thinking that the cord was faulty. The day after I hooked the new HDMI cord up, the same thing happened. What is up with this? Is this normal, or do I have a faulty HDMI connector? I've never seen this in a TV before.
The buzzing sound when using the other cables is not normal. There shouldn't be a buzzing noise if the connections are good. There may be a buzzing sound if the connection is bad....The buzzing sound when using the other cables is not normal. There shouldn't be a buzzing noise if the connections are good. I am not sure you can connect your DVD player to your cable box. You should be able to connect both your cable box and DVD player to your TV set with two HDMI cables. This link is a pdf_usecares file of the TV manual that shows how to hook up your dad and cable box.
You are getting that message becuase the MAC video resolution is too high for the TV handle, you need to lower your MAC video resolution to the native resolution of the TV, read your manual to find out what it is.
Does your TV have a red and white, and (yellow) port in the back? if it does, for Stereo Red is for the right speaker, and while is for the left. You will also need to put the other end Red & White to the cable box too, that is if your tv has these ports, if the tv is too old and only uses Coax, you may need to get a rf modulator, from $6-$12. Hope this helps
I don't have anything but my Direct TV box that has HDMI.
I've tried it in all 3 inputs on the TV. It's the same on all three.
Is there only one HDMI input? or can you try another?
Can you try another HDMI source such as a DVD player with HDMI output?
