When flushed, the toilet (sounds like a lite scream)

When flushed, the toilet (it appears to be the valve) sounds as if it is screaming during refill . An older version of the same toilet in the house doesn't make the noise at all. Any help?

Thanks so far. No visible kinks. I've reviewed optional parts lists for ordering and can not determine what the fluid master is to order?

Re. Duravit Happy D toilet (tank No. 0929100005)

Remove and clean the flush valve and the flush valve seat(it is the flap that opens up to allow water to flush the toilet). Once the edges of the valve and the seat are cleaned, possibly with "0000" grit bulldog steel wool, it should not leak anymore. To make sure it is not leaking, once tank has refilled completely, put some food die in the tank. If, after 10-15 minutes, the water in the toilet bowl is colored, you have a leak from the flush valve. Replacing the flush valve is very easy - just bring the old one with you to the hardware/plumbing store and ask for a replacement. Blessings and good luck!!

Problem with a PF/2 Energizer (pressurized) toilet. After the flush and the refill... a small stream of water keeps sipping and hissing out from a small tube located towards the bottom of the housing...

there must be some dirt on the seat of the valve as when water is turned off and on sediment , dirt can plug up small orficies take apart the valve by getting a schematic from the manufacturer online to take it apart

After flushing the toilet with the fluidmaster 300 installed, and during the tank refill, the refill valve emits an extremely high pitched squeal until just a second or two prior to the tank being...

hiya:) This is a result of a very minor design error (i am a big fan of FluidMaster products) combined w/a slightly higher than normal water pressure situation or foreign matter stuck in the valve somewhere. try turning down the water pressure via the shuttoff under the toilet tank:)

After the toilet is flushed, the water coming out of the rubber tube to refill just barely trickles out. It takes about 10 minutes to refill. Thanks Don Cook

Most likely the toilet flush valve is plugged with sediment &/or needs to be replaced. Try turning off shutoff valve on bottom of toilet. Then turn valve back on. It may flush out the sediment. If not you will need to change the valve.

My dual flush toilet fills up slowly how do i fix

Lift the tank lid off, place it somewhere safe for a moment, and look at what happens: If you're talking about jiggling the handle to get the tank to start to fill with water, then it sounds like the chain or rope is out of adjustment. It can't be TOO TIGHT or the water will leak past your flapper (will cause your dripping noise, tank water level will leak down, causing constant refills), and it cant be TOO LOOSE or the toilet won't flush correctly. Since you didn't mention trouble flushing the toilet, I think that it may be a little too TIGHT. When you jiggle the flush lever-it is supposed to pull a chain or cable to open the flapper at the bottom of the tank. Flush the tank and watch what happens-all the way through to refilling the tank with water and shutting off the water refill valve-Does the flapper get stuck on the chain or something? It is supposed to fall back down to allow the tank to refill after flushing out your toilet. Does the chain look very loose? The dripping sound you described indicates that the flapper is not sealing 100%. The flapper is very easy to replace, you just have to get the adjustment set for when you flush the toilet how sensitive you need it. You amy have to play with it a little bit before you get the adjustment correct.

Hope this helps!

Have Mansfield #160 and hear a fog horn like sound when flushing toilet. What can I do to fix?

Are your wast water pipes in your house vented through the roof? If they are maybe the vent pipe is clogged. At my father in-laws house the pipes are not vented through the roof like their supposed to be to vent sewer gas. they are not vented at all. Every time you flush it sounds like someone is downs stairs screaming. Something to do with air/ suction in the pipes.

Toilet will not flush

It sound like you have debris caught in the fill valve. Remove the top where the washer is and put your hand over it and slowly turn the water on to flush the fill valve. Replace the washer with a new one and then replace the top.

If you have the old ball and **** style, replaceing the diaphram is harder so I would recommend replacing it with a fluidmaster fill valve. Hope this helps.

After each flush as the water refill it makes a sound like a siron

Sounds like to much water pressure.  Try turning the shut off valve off.  Flush the toilet.  Then slowly turn the valve back on until it makes the noise again.  When the noise is heard, turn the valve back a little bit untill the sound stops.

Loud screaming sound during spin cycle

The screaming noise is probably from a dry bearing in the motor, it will probably come and go and shouldnt cause to much problem, they are supposed to be self lubricating but sometime they run dry.
