Hiiiii my acer dvd write not read dvd properly.pls provide solution

Check on Acer's website and see if there is a firmware upgrade for your drive. If not, it looks like you will have to replace the drive unless it is under warranty.

Some times some DVD disk not properly formatted. That's why not read DVD disk.

it could be a dirty lens. here's a video on the cleaning, its annoyingly loud but shows how to clean the lens with rubbing alcohol.

might want to turn the volume down in advance:

its for a ps2 but the drive is basically the same, and you would clean the lens in the same way.

if this doesn't solve the problem, you would probably have to disassemble the drive completely and get it working properly and put it back together, might want to get the help of a pro for that.

Last option is to replace the dvd drive completely, it will definitely solve the problem, You can buy such a drive from few places, few come to mind, for example, www.ebay.com, www.pchub.com and www.acerparts.com

You likely do not have a DVD-Rom. Check the front of the DVD and be sure that it says DVD-ROM on it. If it does not you may consider contacting Acer to upgrade it.

the dvd lens is very sensible and optical device and then it is the main part of the drive it is only help us to read dvd we should be very care full with that lens once it got dust then it wont read the dvd properly

due to dusty environment it happens the lens gets dusty and then reading and writing problems occur the only solution is

pls buy a lens cleaning cd which have brushes installed on the surface and try to clean the lens this will solve , bcoz ur dvd was not wirtten properly it might not read ur that dvd but sure will help stopping this error again pls try to read that dvd after this cleaning and then also try to write some data to a new dvd and then read ur problem will be gone i hope

Since on a laptop the laser lens is right in the open with the drive open, it's easy to get it dirty. Try cleaning it with a cotton swab moistened with cleaner or isopropyl alcohol and see if discs read.

It's also possible you have a bad drive. Like any other electronic device, it is possible for a drive to "just quit working" properly. The problem with laptop drives is that they aren't all alike, so you can't just pick up and install a generic replacement like you could on a desktop machine. The easiest solution to a bad internal drive is to get a USB external drive, which has the benefit that you can use it on other computers as well.

in order to play a DVD you need to have a software dvd player Like WIN DVD, otherwise DVDs will not play
