I cannot turn off the Fix key on a TI-15 calculator. Help!

    The key pad appears to be clean. The Fix key will depress but the display continues to show that it is on.

Is it possible that the key pad is dirty? You may have to take the calculator apart and clean the key pad area. Don't do it unless you are fairly handy. Good luck!

Not directly. The calculator does not have the trig functions built in. You could do it the same way people did it before pocket calculators, but you can't do it just be pushing one or two keys on this calculator.

[FIX] [0.001] rounds results to the nearest thousandth.
[FIX] [ . ] removes the fixed-decimal setting.
You must press [FIX] before a Place Value key each time you want to

My ti-85 won't turn on

TI calculators have an annoying habit of dimming the screen when the batteries are changed so that it appears as if the calculator isn't turning on. Turn the calculator on (or at least press the ON key). Press and release the 2ND key. Press and hold the Up-arrow key for a few seconds and see whether the screen becomes legible.

If this doesn't fix it, please reply to this post and we can go on from there.

How do I clear off fix (rounding) mode on the TI-10 and TI-15?

In order to clear Fix off the calculator just press the following keys
- First press the [Fix] key
- Next press the [.] decimal key
