Turntable does not work

This is a fairly easy one. First, make sure the turntable coupler under the glass dish is not broken. Second, on the control board, find the turntable relay and test for voltage. Some turntable motors are 24 volts DC, so make sure your testing the correct voltage. If no voltage from the control board, then replace the control board. Otherwise head towards the turntable motor.
On OTR models, you can get to the motor by un-screwing the bottom panel on the microwave. On countertop models, there will either be a knockout or screw on access panel. Check for voltage at the motor. If no voltage, check the wiring back towards the control. If voltage, then replace the turntable motor. The component list below also shows how to test a turntable motor.

Instead, just specify the time using the number pads and start your microwave to see if your turntable begins to rotate again.



(3)The rotating mechanism on the inside of your microwave that rotates the turntable is actually connected to a small motor on the inside of your microwave's case. If this motor burns out or stops working, the mechanism will stop turning. This is something that needs to be replace.

2 Remove the bottom panel of the microwave. The Microwave Wizard website explains that the number of screws securing the panel varies depending on the manufacturer and specific microwave. Once the bottom panel is loosened, disconnect its wiring harness in order to completely remove the panel.

3 Locate the turntable motor. The Microwave Wizard website explains that the motor compartment should be positioned below the center of the microwave. Unscrew the motor, disconnect the wires, and remove it from the microwave.

4 Determine the specific part number for the turntable motor so that a correct replacement can be purchased or ordered. Position the new motor into the shaft in the bottom of the microwave. Screw the motor securely into place.

5 Test the microwave to make sure that the turntable motor is operating correctly. The Microwave Wizard website explains that the motor can make noises if it was not positioned evenly in the shaft. Reconnect all of the wires that were detached when removing the old motor.

6 Reinsthall the microwave's bottom panel parts, and secure all of the screws in place. Reposition the turntable frame in the bottom of the microwave and place the turntable on top of it. Test the microwave in order to make sure that everything is working correctly.

Look on the front panel where the control buttons are. There should be a button that reads; 'Turntable'.
This is to turn your turntable on and off. It probable is turned off.

Some microwaves have a button on the control panel that disables the turntable. Make sure that this button hasn't been pressed.
Next most likely causes are a the stirring (turntable) motor has malfunctioned or possibly a turntable belt is broken or slipping (if equipped). This will involve opening up your microwave (and probably removing it from the wall), diagnosing the problem, ordering the parts, then replacing them.

Remember, while you can do some repairs on your microwave, what you don't know can kill you... even on an unplugged microwave, so make sure you understand the dangers and how to reduce them before you try anything inside a microwave.
