did you try to plug directly in to a plug ? maby your strip is defective or has a 10 amp overload protector this will trip with heating devices of your nature.
It could be the iron itself (it may have a short circuit in it) and the circuit breaker trips when the steam switch is turned on.
Option 1)
Another option is that the entire circuit that that circuit breaker is controlling is overloaded. What other outlets / applicances / lights are disabled when that circuit breaker trips? You may have to iron only when those other applicances on that circuit are not being used.
Option 2a) Your outlet may be damaged and causing your circuit breaker to trip when the high current STEAM setting is set.
- OR -
Option 2b) the circuit breaker is damaged and is tripping too easily. Only replace with a similarly sized circuit breaker (15 amp lis likely but is says right on the breaker).
it is shorting out and tripping the breaker either from moisture or problem insulation
the cost to repair is more than a new iron so junk it and be safe
Dropping any iron is the kiss of death... dont use it again, especially on the steam setting.. you could electrocute yourself..
Dispose of it safely and get a new one. You wont make that mistake again in a hurry... I didnt!
