If the buzzing noise is coming from the motor it may be the suppressor on the way out and unfortunately for a Bernina it will be a shop job, if the buzzing is coming from the foot control then you can undo the foot control and take out the suppressor and discard it.

The foot pedal of my Bernina (model # 1230) sewing machine won't work. Machine turns on, but quietly makes a buzzing sound when pushing pedal. I used this machine last week with no problems at all.
Don't know which Bernina model it is. Perhaps, it has bushings that are worn down and need to be replaced--I had to do this on all my older Bernina machines. Could also be a faulty foot control unit--possibly contacts worn down and not making contact. If the noise is coming from the motor, then it's very possible bushings.

These machines do make a noise during start-up, but if it stops after the sewing machine has gone through the set-up, it is probably okay. However, if the noise continues, it should probably be taken for a check-up. Even so, if you are worried, a check-up may still be helpful.

press the clr button. The altered stitches will be set to basic when you turn the machine off
