I bought this machine about 3 weeks ago, and the first couple of things I embroidered turned out fine. I also used it for sewing and it worked fine, no problems. Suddenly, I am having constant error messages whether I am embroidering or sewing, saying that I have thread breakage. Sometimes the thread does break, sometimes everything appears to be fine. I tried sewing on chenille also and had nothing but trouble. The machine would either beep immediatley that there was thread breakage, or it would sew a few stitches (irregular ones) and then beep. I have read the entire manual cover to cover, read every blog and support team that I can find, and I still can't seem to get the machine to work for me. I've used the netting on my embroidery thread to help with the tension and reduce "whipping" as well. I am so very frustrated. If anyone has any advice I would love to hear it. I am no expert, but I am not a novice either, and I have followed the threading guidelines (what little is provided) to the letter. I can't believe that the machine could already have a bad sensor. Thank you for you help in advance.
Check the sensor at the top of the machine. It is where the thread passes through the plastic "u-turn". Check to see if the wheel turns when you pull the thread through the machine. The wheel has a red marking on it. If the wheel isn't turning when you pull the thread, it may not be sensing the threading correctly.
I hope this helps. God bless you!
Changing to a different needle (ie a ball-point instead of a sharp) stopped the beeping for me!
Make sure you have the latest version of the software or at least higher than 3.0.0.6. Thread breakage message appears also if design is not optimized (or contains data that this machine recognizes as non optimized) and machine has to change the speed suddenly.
Do you think there may be a build-up of lint or random thread snips in the bobbin area that is triggering the sensor.
I have to remove the needle plate, remove the bobbin and bobbin case and clean this area pretty often - hate those tiny, tiny screws!
