Display only works when it is flipped over - Sony HDR-HC1 Mini DV Digital Camcorder

There is a very thin ribbon cable that connects the camera to the flip out display. It is very likely that this cable has developed a crack . This is a very common problem with all video cameras with flip out displays. If your display is a touchscreen it's even possible the "touch" operation still works but you just don't get a display image. You could probably find a replacement cable but, unless you are very mechanically inclined, it would still end up on eBay for parts. Sorry that's not really a solution, just an educated opinion.

Hello, problem is from the flex. The flex is connected to the screen. Sometimes the flex
worn out and the screen won't display. The flex is connected to the phone board. This is common with flip and slide phones. The flex worn out as a result of constant opening and closing of the phone.

Have the flex replaced and phone display should be restored.

The coin size lithium battery is usually used to retain the settings .... e.g. date, time, preferences, etc.
So, it is not likely the cause of your flip LCD display not working

hi,there are there kinds of flipping screen in phone,
the first one is because of damage LCD (glass screen) ,
defective display driver (small chips that makes the display works)
and the other one is corrupted software...in damage LCD the phone will detected,and thirdly, The flex of the phone.

The flex is connected to the screen and it makes the screen display,if the flex gets damaged it will make the screen display be affected.

hi :) motorola K1 is a flip phone,when open flip no display,that mean phone ribbon was spoil.pls send for mobile technician to change a new ribbon. pro will solve.

ur strip line is broken dont use ur screen with more rotation

i had the same problem. i reset the alarm to go off immediately, then dismissed the alarm. i also reset the default theme. the clock came back to the external display and the daily alarm message went away!

The flex strip is cut and thats why you are facing that problem ... please use it the way it works till you can ,,,,, when it completely goes dead have it replaced by a repairman ....

1st i want to tell u that there are 2 types of diplay in flip mobiles like urs. and there are 2 display LCD plates/chips inside it.
One of the LCD plate/chip of the external display is damaged. It is due to hard flipping of the mobiles.
I recommend u to go to mobile technician coz it is a physical problem.
