I have a samsung fridge/freezer (RS21 JLSG). It is 2.5 yrs old, and has stopped cooling the food as it should be. It is cooling it to a certain degree, but not enough. Also, the water isn't coming out. The temp reading for the firdge reads 2, but it's not that temp inside the fridge. Please help!!!! cheers, Maria

There is a fan behind the plastic. This distributes the cold air throughout the fridge. What happens is this fan stops turning due to freezing up. A temp solution is to unplug the samsung for 6-12 hours to allow the ice to melt from around the fan. This is a known design fault. It is easy to dismantle the plastic cover and defrost the frozen fan with a hair dryer, this way the fridge will only be off for about an hour

Your condenser where the heat is removed from the refrigeration system may be plugged with dust. The condenser is more than likely located in back of the refrigerator behind a removable panel. Remove the panel and clean it out. Reinstall the panel after you have cleaned the condenser.
Check the back wall of the freezer for frost buildup. If there is frost buildup on the back wall it indicates that there is a problem in the defrost circuit.
Note: The proper term is "More mature individual" , not old.

I've had my Samsung RS267 LASH side by side for almost 2 years now and the coils froze recently. The temperatures displayed - relating to the refirgerator side - bounce around when the coils freeze. My freezer thank goodness is still working properly. The repairman indicated that the heating element for the refrigerator coils was bad. Unfortunately he had to order the whole unit (coils, heating element, etc.) since he couldn't replace just the one part. Samsung takes their time sending the parts - we've been waiting for 10 days now. The Samsung warranty covers the compressor, evaporator, condensor, drier and connecting tube for 5 years parts and labor so we should becovered. You might be covered as well - depending on when you purchased your refrigerator. I did purchase a separate extended warranty from Lowes when I bought the refrigerator and I'm glad I did. My extended warranty included $250 in food spoilage covering our food loss due to the breakdown. Hope this helps......

Hi paulmac437
I'm Harvey the Master Plumber.
You would like to know what to do if the fridge is getting to cold and has started to freeze certain foods. You have the fridge set to 6 degrees which is the watmest it will go, this makes no difference.
You have an electrical problem. Most likely a bad thermostat. If it is under warranty you're covered! If not then you need a local pro. I do not recomend "do it yourself" on this. It can become very dificult to properly diagnose and expensive to start replacing parts. The local pro will have the diagnostic equipment and knowlege to solve this and it will come with a guarantee, no handyman allowed in this case.
If the fridge is old it may be best to buy a new one.

it sounds like the refrigerator evap is frozen up causing the compartment to get too hot. shut the unit off and let it thaw out. then take the screws out of the cover to check the stryrofoam on the back side of the cover to see if theres broken spots on it causing the air to bypass the evap causing it to freeze. Theres two screws behind the light cover and two at the very bottom of the cover and two behind the decorative plugs about 1/2 way
