It is a common issue with most canon printers.....So the advice i like to share with u is,first u need to empty the waste ink tank absorber on the printer and would like to let u know that changing to a new cartridge would not solve this problem as this has something to do with the printer and not the cartridge.

So once u empty the waste ink tank absorber (something similar to a small sponge..ie: it is the place where your excess ink goes. U should take off that ink as it has reached the maximum point of absorbing and it's unable to absorb more ink) your printer should work fine.

Hope this helps.

Why is my canon ip1800 printer still not printing after cleaning the ink absorber, I still get the message ink absorber is full

Shelly, Did you reset printer after cleaning absorber.
Press and hold the "Power" button and reconnect the power cord. When the printer comes on, release the button. Wait five seconds and push the "Power" button again. This resets the printer's internal memory and overrides the "ink absorber full" error code.
Check the attached links, instruction and guides, Good luck

My canon ip1880 's ink absorber is full

Ink absorber is a part of the printer that absorbs the excess ink while printing. There is a way to reset it but its not recommended, as the ink will eventually leak into the printer. I suggest that you get a replacement ink absorber pad from canon and replace the one in your set.

Pixma ip1880 ink absorber is full pls tell how to fix

Turn off the printer and take some soft absorbent tissues and fold it into a pad.
Lift the cover to expose the ink cartridges and place this pad over the ink absorber on the LHS of the printer so the pad soaks up the wet ink.
Repeat until the absorber is nearly dry.

The ink absorber is full for pixma 1880

This is the REAL working method of manually resetting Canon ip1880 - ip 1980.

1. Unplug the POWER cord.
2. Press & hold the power button.
3. Connect the power cord WHILE holding the power button.
4. Keep on holding the power button for about 30 seconds.
5. Release the power button. The printer should be turned off.
6. Turn the printer on and that's it!

NOTE: You have to do this every time you turn on your printer. Or you will get the waste pad full error.

Hope this helps.
