KX-TGA402C is the included handset for a Panasonic cordless phone system like the KX-TG4011C. You should be able to adjust the ringer volume from the Initial Settings menu. With the phone system in standby, press Menu on one handset. Use the Up/Down arrows to locate the Initial Settings. Press OK. Then select Ringer settings and press OK. Select Ringer Volume and press OK. Use the Up/Down arrows to set the desired Ringer volume and press OK to save. Press Exit to leave the menu system. Alternatively, you can adjust the ringer volume by pressing the Volume Up/Down buttons while the phone is ringing.
The manual for the KX-TG4011 is available from Panasonic here: ftp://ftp.panasonic.com/telephone/om/kx-tg4011_mul_om.pdf . If the above steps aren't working, check that your handset and phone base are properly paired (registered handset). Also check that the base has power and connected to a working phone line. Also make sure that the handset is fully charged.
The instructions worked after the additional KX-TGA402N handset was fully charged and I kept pressing the menu/ok button of the additional handset to advance from initial settings to the handset registration mode.
I had the same problem but different panasonic phone 1311 model, I tried the first anonymous suggestion, drained the batteries(takes 2 AAAs) and now it seems to be charging normally.. already at 3rd bar now after a couple of hours of charging. Thank you anonymous.
I ordered a new kx-tg560m handset for my kx-tg5632 base unit, but the enclosed instructions for registering it with the base unit were wrong. Fortunately, I found the old quick setup guide in my files.
If you do not have the same base unit and handset, go to the URL: http://www.panaxonic.com/RegisterYourHandset.
1. On the handset, press [MENU], then press [0][0]. The handset displays "Refer to manual to prepare base. Then press OK->" 2. On the base unit, press [SELECT] until the desired extension number [H1, H2, H3, or H4] is displayed on the base unit, then press and hold [CALL] until the CHARGE indicator flashes. 3. On the handset, press the [OK] softkey.
When the handset is off and sitting in the charger, the handset's extension is displayed in the upper right corner.
It first sounds as if the handset isn't charged properly. Check the battery status first. The manufacture advises to charge the system for approx. 7 hours before any use occurs.
Second, make sure that the registration took, when programming the phone originally. I would de-register the handset by:
1 {MENU} i {0}{0}{2}
2 {3}{3}{5} i {OK}
3 Select the handset you want to
cancel by pressing the desired
handset number ({1} ? {4}).
Then re-register by:
1 Handset:
{MENU} i {0}{0}{1}
2 Base unit:
KX-TG6021/KX-TG6022/
KX-TG6023
Press and hold {LOCATOR} until
the IN USE indicator flashes.
KX-TG6051/KX-TG6052/
KX-TG6053/KX-TG6054
Press and hold {LOCATOR/
INTERCOM} until the IN USE
indicator flashes.
LAfter the IN USE indicator starts
flashing, the rest of the procedure
must be completed within 1
minute.
3 Handset:
Press {OK}, then wait until a beep
sounds.
4 {OFF}
Third, make sure that the display on the handset does not show "SP-Phone" in the display, if it does press the phone icon button.
Fourth, Do you currently have voicemail from your phone service provider? If so, the answering machine will not answer. Make sure that the answering machine portion is turned on. Do this by:
Press {ANSWER ON} to turn on/off the
answering system.
When the answering system is turned
on, the ANSWER ON indicator lights.
When the answering system is turned
off, the ANSWER ON indicator turns
off.
