IM guessing your icemaker is not working either. these symptoms are caused by your evaporator fan motor not blowing air throughout cabinet. However, your problem could be the motor itself not operating correctly, wr60x10185, or the main control board is not operating correctly, wr55x10942. the problem with the board can and often will be caused due to a faulty motor, so both have to be replaced. It would be much too long for me to explain how to test everything you need to test to see source of problem, but your symptoms are definitely caused by that fan motor not running.

My frig freezes top and also spoils coleslaw freezes water beer tried everything

First, call your fridge vendor for service.
*** the following is for information only. ***
* You need a full defrosting as there is ice in your cooling coils.
* Move food items to another refrigerator.
* Do a complete DEFROST of the box. (unplug it.) Expect it to take 4 or more hours. You must wait till all water stops dripping out of the fridge. Keep checking the lower defrost drip tray at bottom of fridge. Dump out water from tray as needed. DO NOT you a hair drier or any other heat source! The heat will warp the plastic. Use a small fan to gently blow into the freezer section.
* DO NOT use an ice pick or sharp object to remove ice! Just let everything melt. (The problem of ice is inside the coils)
* Plug in Fridge but don't put any food in. Set dial temperature to the Mid range setting. Set to freezer venting to normal. Set the refrigerator to mid range. Let it cool down to 0 - 10 degrees and start making ice (in ice maker) If it does not cool down to at least 10 degrees F then call for service. Suspect bad thermostat, Blocked condenser coils, Bad pump, etc. Qualified service tech required to repair.
* Cooling okay? Reload food but don't stuff it in. Leave space between the walls to allow cold air to flow around foods. It will take a day or so to cool down food properly. Note: I may take longer if this fridge is near a heat source like a Hot water heater, Oven, Range, Steam radiator, etc.
* If your still icing up in 2-3 weeks. Then check if the coils are icing up. Defrost is not working. This needs to be checked by a tech. Have him perform annual maintenance.
* Check door seals. Kids leaving the door open? High humidity? * Note how everyone uses the fridge; are they putting hot food in it? Open hot steaming food adds heat and humidity to fridge. Hot food with thaw out other frozen food and build up frost.
* Final, Have a Tech check your fridge. Have them perform maintenance and replace worn items as needed.

My freezer won't freeze any lower than 05 degrees no matter what you set it on ... why won't it freeze any lower

Door gasket ok? Accurate thermostat reading? Clean condenser coil? Incorrect freon level in unit.

My Samsung RL39WBMS fridge on m fridge freezer keeps freezing food. Why is this happening all the time and how can I prevent it?

maybe the fridge is set on a colder setting and if that's not it then stick it on the lower shelves and that might help from not freezing because are fridge is the same way when it is stuck by the coolant fan

I have a two year old whirlpool side by side refrig and it is freezing things in the refer side no matter what setting it is on. Can you tell me where to start to troubleshooting?

Hi,

Most times this is a bad cold control, but there are other things to check for. Make sure the condenser fan is working and the coils are not covered with dust. A separated heat exchanger ( small capillary tubing soldered to the large suction line ) can separate from one another and make the fridge run too long. - tape tubing back together. A poor working evaporator fan motor could also make the fridge run too long and freeze - replace the fan motor. An inefficient compressor or refrigeration system could make the fridge run too long and freeze - have a service tech check this out. A misaligned control settings, make sure the air damper and cold control have not been bumped and are out of normal settings. Stuck open air diffusers or air dampers are becoming more and more common for allowing too much air to be blown into the fresh food section and freezing things. On all frost free fridge's the freezer temp air is blown into the fresh food section, if you have "easy" to freeze items ( eggs, veggies in water, etc ) in front of or under where the freezer temp air comes out, they could freeze - store them in a different spot. Doors not closing properly making the fridge run too long is something else to check for.

Good luck in solving the problem......

Vegetables keep freezing in the fridge crispers

You have to heat the coil in the back of the fridge. Take everything out and open up the back, then take a hair dryer and heat the coil. After doing this, adjust the heat settings on the freezer.

Water wont dispense but still makes ice. Also fridge side gets extremely cold no matter the settings and freezes stuff in the bottum drawers

Since your freezer control is the main thermostat , and your refrig control is only a damper , lower your freezer setting and turn the refrig control mid way . This will make the refrig run less , and keep the air flow moving , throughout the complete unit . When the airflow stops , by turning down the refrig control ( closing the damper ) , all the cold air will settle in the refrig section , thereby freezing everything in the lower section .
Since the water line runs thru the freezer door , too cold in the freezer section , will cause the water in the line to freeze . I would also suggest installing a dispensor heater ( pt. # WR49X10173 ) , which would hopefully avoid water line freeze , in the future . This part comes with installation instructions .

My daughter's mini fridge has a freezer compartment. Her issue is, if she turns it up high enough so the freezer freezes, the fridge compartment also freezes everything; if she turns it down so that the...

This is a drawback of most mini-fridges. Start by defrosting everything. Then fill ice cube trays with water and keep lowering the setting until the water freezes. Just go a little lower, no more. Fridge should not freeze food. If the fridge stays closed all the time food will freeze. Also if the freezer element gets ice buildup it must be defrosted. Not automatic like home fridge. Most kids today weren't born when the last fridges that had to be defrosted were in service.

GE Frigerator has intermittant Freezing

It sounds like the defrost heater is burned out. Remove the inside back cover in the freezer to see if the coils are frozen up. If so, more than likely your defrost heater has bit the dust. It is located at the bottom of the inside coil of the freezer.

Also, you could be have a clogged condensor coil. It is located on the out side back of the Fridge. You need to remove the panel from the lower part of the fridge and do a thorugh cleaning.
