PUK stands for Personal Unblocking Key. This is a uniqueeight-digit code specific to your SIM card. This is required when the PINnumber to unlock your mobile phone is entered incorrectly 3 times. You are thengiven 10 attempts to enter your PUK code. If an incorrect PUK code is enteredafter the 10th attempt, you will block your SIM card permanently and willrequire a new SIM card from your mobile phone provider.
PUK codes can be obtained through the following ways - The PUK code is in your SIM card documentation Starter Pack.If you do not have this then -Please contact your phone service provider.
Your cell phone service provider can give you the PUK code once you give them youraccount details and they have confirmed your identity.

Do not try to do that as three or more wrong attempts and your SIM gets blocked permanently.
It is a property of the service provider. The default is 00000000, eight zeros. But obviously you must have chamged and forgotten it.
Now thw only way out is to contact the helpline of your service provider and ask them. If the SIM is blocked then a new SIM will have to be gotten.

This problem occurs when wrong PIN or PUK have been given more that twice. These are issued by the service provider. Hence you must contact the helpline of the service provider and ask them for a new PIN or PUK. However the default is 00000000 (eight zeros).

PUK is pin unblocking key, you can check for this at the back of your sim card's card holder.

the disadvantages when you lost you puk are
1. if you can't resolve the issue, you can't use your sim anymore
2. you need to take a lot of effort asking your PUK code from your network provider.

so the next time, you decided to enable the pin lock, be sure to write down your pin to a piece of paper and keep it in your wallet :)

One way is by going to your AT&T and tell them to unlock your LG Neon and when they do ask them if they can reset it so you wont have any more problems with the PUK code.

My suggestion is not to lock your phone when not in use as one is likely to forget the code. And when forgotten, the only way out is to get the firmware reinstalled loosing all data that you are trying to protect now. Its upto ypu now to take the risk of forgetting or not.

The default PUK is 00000000 (eight zeros) unless you changed it. If you did, thencontact your service provider's helplie as PUK and PIN are the domain of the service provider. They will give you a fresh one.

my phone puk code got locked. i can unlock the puk code but it says enter new pin code. and when i verify it it says code error

You may enter wrong PIN three (3) times only. After that your PIN will be blocked! To unblock, you need PUK. You can only enter wrong PUK ten (10) times. (This is as documented) After entering correct PUK, you will be asked for NEW PIN.

So, when it says "PIN blocked. Enter PUK code", you must enter the PUK. If you correctly enter the PUK, it will asked for new PIN, by asking "Enter new PIN code:". Enter anything you want as your PIN. You will be asked to enter it twice (two times).
From what I read from your post, you have done correctly, but you don't want to enter new PIN. There is no way SIM card/phone will use old PIN. The device doesn't know your PIN. So, you have to enter new PIN.
