I have HP Pavillion M8330F desktop computer that the video card went bad in: Asus Geforce 8500gt Pci-espress x16 part #5189-2509. Will the HP/ASUS 512MB nVidia GeForce 8500GT video card be compatible with my computer

I only have 300 w power supply, is that enough? Also will the 512mb be a better video card?

Will this video card be better than the other one? I only have 300w power supply, does that matter?

If the 512mb nVidia is PCI-express then it is compatible. the point here the slot. if the slot is PCIE then the card should be PCIE also

300W power supply is fine. actually that is the minimum wattz. if you have a 1gb video card it is much better. it gives a nice graphics and low consumption on memory.

I am replacing my NVIDIA GeForce 8500 GT Graphics card from my HP Media Center m8400f computer with a new NVIDIA GeForce GT 430 card. I have done this before and from what I have seen it is really...

If it is connected it will come loose. I believe it is for the cooling fan on the card. Be careful with pulling it out it is just a two part deal. You may pull the plug but it will also come off maybe in two pieces or one whole piece. Whichever it will come off. Give it some pulling. John

How do i install the asus geforce 8500gt 5189-2509?

1. Turn your computer off.
2. Disconnect the AC power-cord.
3. Remove the side-panel that is *NOT* closest to the keyboard/mouse connectors.
4. Unscrew the spine of the "old" video-card, and remove it.
5. Measure the distance between the "spine" of the video-card and the first of the gold-pins on the connector on the video-card.
6. Compare this distance with the "empty" slots on the motherboard,
to find a match.
7. Insert the new video-card, pushing until it is firmly seated.
If it does not seat, the video-card that you purchased is *NOT* compatible with the slot on the motherboard. Stop, and re-insert the old video-card, and re-assess the situation.

Compatibility

Yes both of them are compatible, The 8500 GT uses a PCI X16 slot which is available on the m2n-mx motherboard.

Installed GeForce 8500 GT PCI-E video card and pc will not turn on

If your mboard has a builtin video card you should configure that b4 u can use that add on card.

1. connect the add on card.
2. connect the monitor to the built in VGA.
3. start system and press "F2 or Delete" to go to bios setup.
4. on bios setup " refer to the manual on installing addon PCI express card".
you find it here: http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?SLanguage=en-us.

or enlosed in the board.

After configuring your system restart and unplug in the wall outlet and then connect the monitor in the add on card.

Hope you find in order.
