TV Snow and Static Sound

TV-Model CS-2610R connected to VCR HS-U32. When both are turned on there is white snow and some sound. The same program shows through no matter which channel is tried. The video channel setting on the back of the VCR is set to No. 4. The remote controls for the VCR and the TV both have new batteries and both work. The remote for the VCR has Video/TV, TV, and VCR buttons at the top. The RCA remote for the TV has Cable, VCR and TV buttons at the top. How can I get rid of the snow and static sound?

Sound like its all cabled wrong So its from the source, (wall satalight Whatever ) to VCR in then VCR out to TV, Now when the VCR fires up it tunes the RF output to Chanel 4 and has a strong signal, that over rides just about every thing. Simply way to stop this is one of two ways, press the TV/VCR button on the VCR, or simply turn off the VCR to let the signal pass through.

I have auto programmed the television, but it only shows white snow no matter what. I have also fine tuned it as well. The model is shownic lc26ce80r. Can you help

My personal guess would be that there is no signal coming through to your tv or the wrong signal coming through. I have the opposite problem...we get picture (snowy) but no sound except that of snow and the Audio/Sound options are NOT helpful. Wish I could be of better help.

My jvc HR D170 ES vcr used to work fine when suddenly the picture ( snow ) is very bad but sound is ok ...tried to retune to my tv ...tried changing the rf at back ...tried tuning to my other tv and...

The vcr is fine. buy a cleaning tape. people say dry cleaner tapes wear out the heads, but it fixed my problem when my vcr only showed snow. but try a wet tape first. follow the instructions that came with the tape and run it a few times.

No picture or sound

If you see only snow and the words "NO SIGNAL" are displayed, and you know that you have the set hooked up to a good signal and the TV is set to the right channel, it means that your tuner has stopped working and needs to be replaced. First, though, make sure your signal is good. A good way to test this is to hook the TV to a good VCR, put in a good pre-recorded tape and hit play. Tune the TV to channel 3 (or 4) and if it is still all snow, have the tuner replaced by a qualified tech.

Tv seems ok by static and now, no sound (or very faint)

The problem you're describing sounds like a tuner problem. BUT you say that you have the same problem with A-V input too. That's weird!!! Possibly the electronic TV-AV switching circuit is messed up and stuck in the TV (tuner) position. If this is the case you DO have a tuner problem and a switching problem too.
