I have model 28112 6.0 Cordless. My blue light is blinking and I cannot turn it off. No messages on verizon.

I have the same problem (VMWI will not turn off). I currently have T-Mobile@Home. When I had Verizon (Copper followed by FIOS) it never came on.

  • Anonymous Jan 27, 2009

Same problem with T-Mobile @ home. Not a solution, but first I made sure that the voice mail of TM@home was empty. Now I will try disconnecting the base and replacing with another phone for a few hours... maybe it will go away. I will post the result.

I had flashing blue VMWI light with my 28821 series DECT 6.0 Cordless phone. As far as I understand this is the way how this phone reacts to "stuttering" dial tone which usually indicates a pending voice mail from the service provider (not the one from the phone answering system). After I made sure I cleared all voice mails from the provider (Comcast digital voice service allows you to do it via web), dial tone returned to normal and VMWI indicator stopped flashing,

I have a Ge cordless phone model 28821. The blue light signalling voice mail continually flashes. Also my caller ID does not come across. I have tried unplugging everything and removing the batteries in all the handsets and that did not work. Canna anyone help me? I am tired of seeing the light flash at night. Thanks.

On my Vtech 5.8ghz phone all it took was the "clear voicemail" option in the program menu. I'm sure most phones has a similar function.

You need to clear all your voice mails with YOUR CARRIER, not your base station. Example:  I use Comcast Digital Voice for my phone service. I logged on to comcast.net, and then went to my account to view all of my voicemails. Once I deleted all of them, the light STOPPED flashing on my 28821 model phone.

SOURCE: out of range shows on main handset of cordless phone

Unplug the battery. Hold down The * (star) and the #(hash) keys simultaneously. Re-connect the battery, phone will beep and screen will be blank. Press the voicemail (righthand silver key under the lcd screen). As above EEPROM/RAM message will appear. Place handset on base and your problem is solved.

How do I reset voice mail notification, have tried resetting global setup and VMWI reset but it doesn't stay long as red light starts blinking after a while and there no message?

You apparently have unheard messages on the voicemail system provided by your telephone company. This system records messages when someone calls while you're already on the phone. Please contact your telephone company for instructions on accessing their voicemail system.

New Voice Mail flashing light

press "mute" key to access menu, press the up or down arrow key labeled "caller ID- volume" until you get to "handset setup", press the "mute" key again, press the down or up arrow until you have "defaultsetting" selected, press "mute" key, press "1", then press "mute" once more. At this point your handset will reset clearing the indicator for all the handsets. I've had to do this twice on my phones and it worked every time.

New Voice Mail flashing light

What worked for me was to call my phone from another phone and leave myself a voicemail. I then went in and retrieved and deleted that voicemail. Once I hung up from my voicemail service my handsets reset about 10 seconds later.

I hope this helps!
