It says unregistered sim card

usually in this case, the phone is stolen or picked up and the original owner of the phone canceled their account so whoever has the phone now cannot use it.

or the sim card and phone are incompatible with each other. (ex. at&t phone with t-mobile sim card, or vice versa) they just wont work with eachother.

MOTOROLA NO SERVICE

alot of guys that sell "unlocked " phones sell a regular network-specific phone but they'll include a universal unlock wafer-thin sim that fits in your phone between your sim card and the phone contacts. Look in the box ..if you still got it look for a plastic sd card sized container and see if there's one with you phone... if not you can get one on ebay for about ten bucks..

You need to Google for a site that offerers unlock codes or find someone in your area with a Smart-Clip. The good news is once unlocked you can also flash actual T-Mobile firmware to the phone to make it truly T-Mobile.
