My dell inspiron 1525 is blinking when I connect it to power, and when I try to refill the battery it is EXTREMELY SLOW, should I change the battery, the adaptor or what else to do? Thanks.

Remove 1 stick of ram and turn on, if no! take out the second one and put back the first, and power on, if okay you know the 1 stick is bad. Remove main battery and power on, "long shot" if no change chances are it is a motherboard issue.

How old is the laptp? It seems that the battery has gone and needs a replacement. Please get a new one.

Try to isolate the battery by plugging the power adapter to it. Then remove the power adapter & press/hold the power button for 5 seconds. Insert the battery, turn on the pc & insert the power adapter , check if the battery is charging. Hi. Blinking orange light on battery indicator means it's charging. To make sure, point your mouse to the battery icon on the Taskbar located on the lower right-hand corner of your screen...near the system time and speaker icons. It should say plugged in, charging. If you see "plugged in, not charging, then you need to call Dell Phone Support for additional help.

Dell systems will not charge the battery without a Dell Branded AC adapter connected to the system (The BIOS looks for the adapter ID and disables the battery charger if not ID'd)

On the long term, a power adapter with a bigger amperage can damage battery and battery charger.

Better to get an adapter with same specs as the 65/70W one , or an original replacemant:
