Hi, My Asko 10505 washing machine would not stop filling water. I switched off the hot water tap and run it on programme 6, but the machine kept filling up with water till it overflows. The drainage seems fine as I was able to pump out the water when I switched the machine off and put it on the pump out programme 9.
Is ther anything I can do to get the washing machine to operate correctly?
Thank you
Lee

It could be a faulty water inlet valve, but it could also be a blocked tube between the tub, and the water level pressure switch, because over time, this can become blocked, and affect how much water enters the machine.
An easy test is to put the machine on a fill cycle and then turn of the mains power to the machine as the machine begins to fill; if the machine continues to fill, it is probably the water valve; if not, check the tube from the tub to the pressure switch.
I hope this helps?
certainly is
check that the drain hose is above the washing machine into a tub as it may be running out as the tub fills
there are no valves , just the height of the hose above the tub
You don't mention if the drum spins if you choose the spin program, if it doesn't it could be the brushes on the motor. This would be a cheaper option to try first rather than a board. sometimes you can clean the com or tap the brush carriers gently and get the motor to spin on an empty or small load.
If you're confident, with the power offer and machine isolated you can check the resistance across both the brushes and slowly rotate the motor as a test. hope this helps
If your washing machine will not fill, only hot or cold will fill or is slow tofill then read these tips. I have covered many of the things that can happen inthese tips...
Sorry. Silly question but I have to ask ;-0) Have you connected them round the right way? The hot water hose should be screwed onto the RED painted position and the cold to the one painted either white or with no colour. If you are ABSOLUTELY SURE they are round the right way, you machine is malfunctioning! Cheers, John C
Hi,
2 things to check for. Obstruction in the drain pump or faulty drain pump, brushes in the motor worn out. The easiest way to determine the pump issue is answer this question. Does it drain ? Next, turn the timer to the drain/spin cycle, obviously it should drain & spin and advance to "off". The next thing with these 10505 asko is to see if the drum rotates in both directions in the wash/agitate portion of the cycle. You can just select the short wash for this (I forget if it's #4 or #5) If not, it's worn brushes. However, you'll have to make sure the armature isn't damaged before simply installimg new brushes. We can cross that bridge when we get there. Let me know.
Hope that helps, though those are just the most common problems there could be others.
Good Luck
Unfortunately, the only way to be 100% sure this won't happen again is to replace the inlet water valve. Especially if the problem is intermittent. You could live with it if you turn off your water taps when the machine is not in use.
hi sir'
start the wash machine empty and see if it happens when nothing is in it. 2. When machine is off, open the top grab the centerpiece inside the wash machine and pull and push it slowly, does it move? (For safety unplug the machine) 3. Make sure machine is 100% level (front to back, left to right)
The most common thing is bad drum bearing, which force the wash machine out of whack when in spin / wash. Which are common and the best thing is to call Maytag.
