Is it a BIOS password or is it a Windows Logon password? I'll be ready to help you further as soon as I get a response.
OK, if it is Windows XP, you can start in Safe Mode to access the Administrator log-on. Usually the password for this is set to none unless you've set one up. To start in Safe Mode, hit F8 repeatedly once the computer is turned on until you get the bootup screen. You'll want to select Safe Mode.
Once you're in Safe Mode, go to Control Panel. Select User Accounts and select your User. Select reset password and type in your new password. You should then be able to restart the computer and log-in normally with the new password.
I'll wait to hear from you as to your success.
The password for Windows 7 Administrator is the original password you entered when you first purchased the computer and it asked for an administrator password. If you do not have that password, the only option you will have is to restore the system to original factory defaults (you'll lose everything that you've put on the computer if you do this). Windows 7 is very secure and there are no current programs to get around the password unless you created a password restore disk before this. In order to restore the system to original factory condition, press F10 when the HP Invent Logo appears. Follow the on screen instructions.

I Apologize, but these Methods would NOT work as you ultimately need Administrator's Password ( Password you Forgot ) to Restore / Reset the Computer and by Mistakenly, the last steps are for DELL.
Either you need to use 5 techniques Offered by Me Initially for HP. You could go for Recovery Disk / Re installation of Software.
Hardware Fix
Look at the Video. Just Pull out the CMOS Battery and it would Reset the password.

If the password that you forgot from your user account is standard and not administrator then i can help you. just follow my instruction. restart your pc, before the windows appear just press F8 then select start in SAFE MODE, then login by clicking administrator that you found in login screen(this appear when you start windows in SAFE MODE). once you are already login, go to user account in control panel then manage those account that you forgot the password, just click that user account then click remove password then after that click create password. that's it.
Usually this works for me
turn off your pc then turn it on hit F11
keep clicking til it goes to welcome screen then type in administrator leave password blank it should let you in then go to accounts and change your password there
hope this helps
