My dish network remote eats a set of batteries a week. After 7 days I get the battery low message, then it goes dead. New batteries last 1 week. Can you help??

seen this battery issue reported online before with these remotes
depending on age and model of that TV
you can buy new original ones
dont buy universal types for a hisense
is it the original remote ?
what brand of batteries
lithium energizer?
info
rechargeable batteries never fully charge up
only two needed
size is AAA or AA
Remove the back panel on the remote, remove the dead batteries and install new ones in the same orientation that you found the previous ones in. Your remote is now ready to go.
I replaced the battery in a VW key fob with an exact match of the dead battery I found in it. The fob worked again but the new battery lasted only 1 day. I checked the manual and discovered that the wrong battery had been installed by the previous owner and I had repeated that mistake. I installed the correct battery and it has worked fine ever since. I suggest that you double check to be sure you are installing the correct replacement batteries.
It is possible the remote is draining batteries. If the batteries go dead within a week or less the remote may need to be replaced. How long does it take before the batteries go dead, and how long has this been happening?

i had this problem using dish network. my dish remote went bad so i got a new one and as soon as i programmed it volume and channel had mind of its own on both the dish remote and the original tv remote. you would hit it once and volume would go to max and vice versa when going down. ended up being the new remote was set on the uhf setting and i had to reset to the ir setting which is a small switch in remote next to batteries and then reset system info in dish receiver. problem went away instantly. both remotes work fine now. took two days to figure out and spent hours on internet looking for solution but no one had one. hope this helps.
most likely there is a button on the remote that is stuck on. try moving all the buttons to see if they "feel" stuck. if not then take the remote apart and clean the contact pad bottoms and the surface of the board with rubbing alchohol. good luck!
You can check the obvious like ensuring all batteries are oriented correctly or a new set of batteries but when you are done you will more than likely still need a new remote. Call Dish at 1-888-333-3474 and have the CSC send you a new remote. There may or may not be a charge depending on your service plan and when the system was last serviced. thanks for using Fix Ya and let me know if you need further assistance.
