Whirlpool dryer will not start, used to start if I turned timer

Hi,

I have a Whirlpool electric dryer, model LEC64848AQ1. We were having problems with the dryer starting - you can hear the timer start, you press the start button - Nothing - but then if we turned the timer knob it would start. Today, it will not start - no matter what.

What part do you think needs to be replaced?

Thank you so much for your help!!!!!

Whirlpool electric dryer will not start when you push start button. Model No. LER5634AW0. There is power to the dryer. The door switch appears to be working,(didn't check it with a meter). I push the start button, run it through all the cycles and still nothing. Are there any resets or circuit breakers that I could check? Where do I go from here?

Whirlpool electric dryer - looks like a WED5200T but no model number on the unit. The drum turns and air blows from the vent, but the timer has stopped working and there is no heat.

you have a white strip on the back of your dryer un plug your dryer first.....then un plug the strip and hook the two wires together that will allow the heat to start again.....the timer shouldnt have anything to do with the heat....turn it on and put your ear to the knob and you should here a clock sound if not your timer is bad

Dryer keeps running

hi,

okay, the timer wont shut the dryer off right? okay so maybe a a stuck start button, unplug one of the leads after you start it, unplug the lead and advance the timer knob to off and see if that was it. higher end dryers have that auto dry sensor feature that is supposed to shut it off when its done. Study the wiring diagram and find the circuit for autodry feature and disconnect one of the leads off that thermostat try that

Dryer doesn't get hot or turn off.

yes very possible timer but my guess on the times i seen the problem would be the heating element are the thermo fuse on the elemnt canister when the heater does not come on the timer will not move ck the heater and the fuses on the heater canister it will fix your problem

Dryer stopping in middle of cycle but timer continues to run.

oK " It's your timer, it has to be replaced

it's not going threw all it cycles, will start but will not finish

not a big job, unscrew plate on back at the top you will see
timer , take it out and replace it

( can not stress enough that you have to unplug the electrical cord from the wall socket before working on a dryer or any appliance )
