I have a KP-57WS500 57 in. Rear Projection

I have a KP-57WS500 57 in. Rear Projection Television. The picture is shadowed with red, green, and blue pictures. I believe I need to replace the convergence ic's. I have the board out, know which 2 parts to replace,and have a solder gun in hand. How do I remove the old ic's? Any type of special solder or primer? Ant help would be appreciated. THX!

No,U have solderwicks?U can buy it,in any Radio Shack store.Use solder iron on top of the solderwicks to soap up the solders out ICS pins.Replaced the ICS use any kind solders just resoders ICS back to the heatsink.Tries Websites Tv repair World.com,Tv repairkits.com to buy a complete convergence kit.

Lamp part number

KP-43T70 is a CRT based rear projector and does not use a Lamp like newer LCD/DLP projectors. It uses 3 (Red, Green, Blue) glycol liquid cooled CRT's (like the picture tubes of yesteryear) to produce the image/light as opposed to a Lamp.

Blue Jet drive is blown. This will need replaced and the TV will need re-aligned. This may cost more than the set is worth.

Picture is concave and red, blue, green rainbow shadows objects on the screen.

This is and indication of convergence chip failure. two stk-392-560(ic's 8002,8001) and their assocated bell fuses. Our shop generally charge around 150 for this repair. But prices vary with shop.

Our tv has red and green shadows on the picture when words come on at the bottom of screen they look like a shadow double Peoples faces will be outlined with red and green lines

your color engine is failing its also known as the optic block and they are very expensive to replace good luck google the optic block failure in these sets to better educate yourself with what your dealing with ok it most often blue that shows the failure but green and blue to and red

My pictures do not align and there are three different colours of pictures; red blue and green. The flash focus doesn't work either...how do i fix this? thanks

the sony type 1 convergence repair kit from www.tvrepairworld.com should solve the issue. The kit contains the parts and the CD with instructions.

Replace Both of your convergence ICs STK392-??? they are big black ICs will have part number on them also CK pico fuses they look like resistors but are fuses they will be yellow or green will be around ICs.
