Unable to attach any .pdf file to Yahoo e-mail.

Windows XP SP3, Firefox Browser, New Yahoo Mail...I can't attach any .pdf file to my Yahoo e-mail. Trying to send a 1.7MB file and it begins to load but then I get a message in red "1 file can't be sent." There is a large red triangle with an exclamation point on top of the attachment. I can attach .jpg files. Thanks for your help.

SOURCE: I am unable to attach a 4.8 Mg pps file to an e mail using yahoo

It may be your network connection or cache. Try the following:
1. Clear your browsers' cache
2. Clear temporary files junk
3. Make sure you have a strong reliable signal if you are connecting by wifi...
or switch to a direct Ethernet connection for large files

Hope this helps

Why won't attachments open

There are a few reasons why the attachment might not open and appear correctly:

* You might have problems viewing an attachment if your browser is not properly configured to view that type of file. Usually, the easiest solution is to upgrade your browser to the most recent version:

Download the Firefox browser at:

http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/

Download the Internet Explorer browser at:

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/down...

* If you're having trouble reading an Adobe PDF file, you'll need to install the Adobe Acrobat Reader, which allows you to open and read these types of files. For more information, visit:

http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat

* You might also have problems viewing an attachment if it was sent in an unreadable "encoding type." When a message is sent, the sender might be able to choose an encoding type. If possible, the sender should use MIME encoding.

Hi,
It looks as if you are using older version of IE.
Download IE 8 and see the improvement in speeds.

Or if you still need a faster browser, download Opera web browser.

Default yahoo email

If you use Yahoo! Mail for all your email needs, some of the amenities of Windows seem to elude you. A click on an email link in your browser brings up Outlook Express or another desktop email program, not a new message in Yahoo! Mail. Trying to send a file directly from Word, OpenOffice.org or another office application yields the same, unsatisfactory result.

Fortunately, the state of dissatisfaction need not be permanent. It will be overcome by making Yahoo! Mail act as your default email program in Windows, which, if you use Windows 95 or later is an easy thing to do.
Make Yahoo! Mail Your Default Windows Email Program

To set up Yahoo! Mail as your default email client in Windows:

* Download and install Yahoo! Messenger.
* Select Tools | Internet Options... from the menu in Internet Explorer.
* Go to the Programs tab.
* Make sure Yahoo! Mail is selected under E-mail.
* Click OK.

Yahoo! as Default Email: Does Not Work under Windows Vista

Unfortunately, Yahoo! Mail as your default email program may be hard-wired to use Internet Explorer instead of your default browser, and it does not work in Windows Vista.
Make Yahoo! Mail the Default Email Composer in Mozilla Firefox

In Mozilla Firefox, you can turn to the Mailto 2 Webmail script for Greasemonkey to have Yahoo! Mail handle email links (even under Windows Vista).
