Roxio drag to disc option missing..

Hello
I've just installed the roxio creater 6 disc and would like to copy a DVD onto a disc from my hard drive. However, the 'drag to disc' feature (mentioned in the tutorial as the way to do this) is not there! There's just a space where it should be on the list of icons... Any ideas? Thank you in advance!

I believe in Creator 6 the default install does not include the drag-to-disc feature (who knows why). Reinstall the software but choose Custom Install so that you can select everything/anything that you want.

Good luck.

SOURCE: Adding data file to existing CD-RW disc in Roxio

First off, for your information your Roxio is OLD, they now have Roxio 9.
But that will not solve your problem. Can you open the CD and copy and paste anything? Or is the CD "Read Only"? If read only, it is because when you "Finalized" the CD you optioned the "Write Protect" making writing to the disk impossible. This protects the disk from erasure too.
You will need to use another disk.
Otherwise you can just use the same method you used before to write to the disk, or Copy and Paste, or Drag and Drop.
The Write Protect is specific to the program you are running.
However, Roxio 7 and 9 program I have used ask, "Do you want to be able to write to this disk again?" or words to that effect. All you need to do is just put a check in the box (or not, if you want to write to disk again). This happens when you are ready to remove the CD or DVD from the drive. Then the program runs a "Finalizing" program before the disk automatically ejects.

Try this and see how it works, if it does not, contact me and give me more details

I am using Roxio 7.5 to create a System Back-up. It is asking me to insert a Content CD?

In-pack is a 64-page manual, plus two CDs. One is the installation disc for VideoWave Movie Creator (V1.5.545.0); the other is the contents CD and carries video (AVI), audio (WAV) and still image (JPEG) files for use as templates within StoryBuilder. The wizard-based installation promps for the content CD to be loaded. Roxio recommends using the Full or Typical installation options, which copy the contents CD to hard disk.

Dvd software won't install in vista computer

you could try dragging the files from the roxio installation disc onto the desktop. or if downloaded then just go to the setup file. when you find the setup file right click on it then go to properties - compatibility and then click on run this program in compatibility mode for: xp then further down click on the run this program as administrator.

Please let me know if this works and give me a fixya rating if it does.

Thanks

Cd/dvd burner too slow

It may just be that that is the speed of your drive.  See if it says on the drive how fast it is.  If it is too slow, then you may want to consider getting a newer, faster drive.
