How to get my dell lattitude c400 with wifi to connect with my motorola flipside, i already have pdanet, a usb cable connected, moto phone portal and i can get on internet on laptop

Dell uses it own wireless utility ..

  1. Open the Dell wireless Utility and uncheck the box at the top that says "Let this tool manage your wireless networks". You may then need to open Network Connections, right click the Wireless connection and select Properties, click on the Wireless Networks tab and check the box next "Use Windows to configure my wireless network settings".
  2. And then try to connect again ..

I had to reinstall my vista os on my dell inspirion 1525 and now the wifi connection will no go on. I h ave tried turning on and off the toggle switch, the BIOS is set to enabled for wifi, I have tried...

There is a strong chance that the wireless card inside is bad. I work at a computer repair shop and work mainly with laptops. It isn't uncommon for wireless cards to go bad, before their "time". Usually Dell's have access panels on the bottom of the laptop where you can see the wireless card. It will have 2, sometimes 3 small wires plugged into it. Usually dell' use Dell brand cards, which are really repackaged Broadcom wireless cards in most cases. In your situation, write down what the model number is, go to another computer, look up that model on ebay, buy one, replace it.

I have my laptop installed with Linux OS. i want to replace it with windows XP. i dont have cdrom. can i do it using the USB port? is there a chance that i might encounter a crash? what should i do? please...

You will have to have the external compatible cd drive for the C400 or find create a server to push the new os on. email me at [email protected] and I may be able to help you further. Please note, not all the cd drives that say they are compatible are compatible so be careful before you buy one.

My dell c400 laptop will no5 connect to qwest wifi router

There is a reset switch on the router you have at home. Use a paper clip to press and hold the reset button in for a few seconds to allow the router to reset. This will reset the router to default settings and you should be able to connect to it at this point. Log into the router and set up a securty key so that no one else cans steal your internet

My friend has a dell latitude c400 which will connect to internet via earthnet, has a built in wireless but how do he turn this function on, what short key or anything else is it, pls helllpp

Go to Network conections and enable the wireless device. OR, you may need to open up the wi-fi door and check the model# on the wi-fi card, and type in the model# followed by 'drivers' in a Google search to acquie the drivers, too

My Dell Latitude C400 does not power on. I bought a new power cord and battery and it still does not power on. Is it unsalvageable?

Do you see a green charging light when you plug it in?
If not, i would reccmond scraping it for parts and sell it on ebay, craigslist or somewhere else.
