Food Deposits left on dishes

Is the heating water element getting hot? Is the filter screen in the bottom of the basin clear of food debris? Do you pre-rinse the items being washed?

Rinse dishes in sink before you use dishwasher also leave dishwasher empty and put a dishwasher cleaning tablet in and clean the dishwasher you will see the difference , also empty the food trap , dishwashers are not designed to remove large food deposits as the is no way of masserating built in .

If your dishes have small particules of food that is being left on your dishes this could either be due to food still being left inside the chopper area which is located on this diagram at part number 9 http://c.searspartsdirect.com/lis_png/PLDM/M0704047-00008.png click this link if you remove part number 7 and find when you get to the chopper there is no food debris left there then you would look at the drain pump both before and after the pump area and remove the hoses to the pump to assure that there is nothing stuck or clogged in the drain area. You would also remove the drain hose from where it plugs into your disposal or exiting point and assure that nothing is blocking this area as well If you have any further questions message me back Thanks again Rick
p.s soap debris can also cause these small particules on dishes and I find using a product called AFFRESH works excellent in cleaning the inside of the dishwasher from these soap deposits but would need further clarification as to what type of deposits you think these are

We've had the same problem, and here's what we did to solve it.
Clean the dishwasher as best as possible. Place t cups of vinegar in the bottom of the tub, and run a hot cycle. The vinegar helps kill and remove the scum that can build up in the sump of the tub. If the spray arms are clogged, you can remove the debris with a paperclip or toothpick. (Check and do that regularly anyway).
Cut back on the detergent as far as you can, while still getting the dishes clean. I know this sounds a bit odd, but the amount of recommended soap is based on the dirtiest dishes, and the worst water possible. We rinse the major food particles off of our dishes before loading, so dried on food stuffs isn't an issue. We have cut our detergent to about 25% of the recommended amount, and the dishes still get very clean. We put a sprinkle on the door, a sprinkle in the dispenser cup, and close it up.
The detergent itself is abrasive, and can leave deposits on the dishes, most noticeably on the glassware. Cutting the amount of detergent, and using a good drying agent helps a lot.
Over a period of several cycles, the quality of the wash will improve. Don't expect to get to 25% of the amount of detergent right away. Cut it to 50% to start with, and adjust the amount based on your own observations.

The ring fits just under the spray arm and the split is normal. When you tore the spray assembly apart, did you clean the screens at the bottom (if white hard-water deposit, soak in 50:50 hot water and white vinegar)? Make sure none of the ports in the deck are plugged with food deposits. Check both spray arms for plugged spray holes or split seams. The upper arm moves from water pressure alone--no motor. Make sure it spins freely by hand. We had to try different detergents to get away from a gritty deposit on glassware. Did you fix the leaking problem? Inspect the gasket seal around the door for damage or hardness and check the latch for holding the door closed firmly. Hope some of this helps!

Tear down the lower spray assembly to the deck making note of position and orientation of each part as removed. At the bottom, look for a large filter that is likely filled with hard water/food deposits. Place the filter in a solution of hot water, white vinegar, and dish detergent for some time until the filter appears clean. Check for any trapped food deposits around any of the open ports in the deck. Reassemble in reverse order. Check the spray arms for any plugging of the small spray openings or any split seams. Check the water temperature by interrupting the wash cycle--it should be quite hot and steaming. Try a different type and brand of detergent as some are better than others in dealing with hard water deposits. Hope this helps!

and also spraying off food from dishes may help out check hot-water is on and heating element is working

Hi, it sounds like your dishwasher is plugged up with soap deposits, and/or Calcium deposits.
In an empty dishwasher, put 2 cereal/soup bowls full of vinegar on bottom shelf, and run your dishwasher.
This should clean out all the deposits.
I do this about once every six weeks as our water is very hard.

Is water also standing in the bottom like it isn't getting pumped out? If so, probably the drain system is plugged and everything below the lower spray arm needs to disassembled to the deck--noting the position of each piece as they are removed. Look for food plugging holes in the deck and any obviously damaged parts. Clean the large screen in vinegar and hot water--let soak for a while to remove water and food deposits. Check the drain hose from end to end looking for kinks or other restrictions. Make sure the pump mechanism at the bottom turns freely. Check both spray arms for plugged spray holes or split seams. Reassemble in reverse order. Run a cycle without dishes to clean further--make sure the water drains out at the end. Listen for proper water movement while running. Open the door to inspect progress several times.

If your dishes or glassware appear filmy or spotted following a complete wash cycle, adjusting the amount or type of detergent you're using and adjusting your hot water heater's water temperature may solve the problem. But before you do either of these, put a rinse additive (such as Jet-Dry) in the rinse dispenser to improve the sheeting action of the water.

First you'll have to determine whether the film is removable or permanently etched. To do this, soak a glass in undiluted white vinegar for about 15 minutes. Or, you can wash the glass with warm water and concentrated dishwasher detergent or use a high-phosphate detergent (such as Glass Magic) according to label directions.
If film comes off, it is probably caused by hard water minerals, improper amounts of detergent, or unsuitable water temperature. For more, see "Dishwasher Doesn't Wash Well."

Permanent etching is often caused by a combination of soft water and excessive heat or detergent. If glassware is permanently etched, there isn't anything you can do to make it clear again. But you can avoid future etching by taking these steps:
1) Be sure hot water entering the dishwasher is no hotter than 140 degrees F. Don't use extra-hot settings, such as "Power Scrub," and use the "Energy Saver" dry cycle.
2) Adjust detergent amount.
3) Don't pre-rinse your dishes before loading them in the dishwasher. Food particles on the dishes actually help the detergent and drying agents clean better.
