Kitchen-Aid Electric control panel buttons stopped working

I have a Kitchen-aid electric range/oven. Model #YKERC507HW4 and button #2, #4, and "timer set/start" buttons stopped working. Any ideas on what may be the problem?

This may sound facetious, so don't get offended.
Did you set your clock to the correct time?
Did you clear any and all preset timers?
If none of that helps you can usually find roaches in the strangest places. If you have no roaches, then moisture and heat are the likely culprits which means that your blister pads are simply worn out. Unfortunately these are coated with graphite and don't last forever, so a timer replacement would be your only option unless your touchpad is separate from your timer.

It sounds like the control board of the timer is faulty. Do you need the electronic timer/clock. If you don't it is normally easy to by-pass the timer altogether. Find the main active wire coming into the timer. Then identify the load wiring which runs from the timer to the oven thermostat control. These two wires simply need to be connected and the timer is bypassed and the oven will work.

My Kitchen Aid Oven model KRGA806 won't turn off. All of the other buttons on the control panel work just the off button doesn't. It doesn't make any noise when I press on it. Do you know how to fix this...

Hi!!
Try pressing the "stop time button" and set the shut off a minute later than the time showing on the range's clock. This is a common fault on this type of ranges, the board has to be replaced. The manufacturer recommends unplugging it the unit for 2 hours to reset the PCB, I've tried twice and worked once, so I would say you have a 50% chance it will work for you.
Good Luck! A HELPFUL - 4 THUMBS - rating for this solution would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for using FixYa.

Start Button Failed on Whirlpool Electric Range Model GY396LXPQ02

It sounds like you have an oven problem rather than a start button problem. Is there an error code? If so list your model and error code on a search engine and you will find error codes. Or you can just list make model number and error codes and you can find a chart of Whirlpool error codes. I have done this with no problem. That should tell you the exact problem and things to try.

It may be neither issue you mentioned. It could be a bad element or a short.

Kitchen Aid Range purchased 1/06. Had to replace (very expensive over $350) the touchpad in 1/08. Now it's 6/08 and the touchpad is not working again - most buttons works but the off button doesn't...

sorry but it sounds like the panel again.. i replaced mine after a boil-over and when i replaced it, i added a silicone bead under the panel along the top to stop the problem from recurring..

i've never seen engineering so poor.. there's no way that the engineers are this stupid so they must have done it on purpose to keep their repair network in business.. lol

good luck

Self cleaning does not work

The E1- F5 error is a door lock error.

The control (TIMER) has likely failed in this instance - BUT...

Sometimes when you disconnect power to a range and reconnect it the electronic range control gets confused.
You should disconnect power again for 15 seconds and reconnect and see if that helps.

If it doesn't cure the E1- F5 error hold the bake button in until E0- F2 appears in the display.
This is the error for a stuck button on the keypad and is the way to clear the memory of the electronic range control.

Sometimes these work, but if the control has failed it won't make any difference.
