I was watching a TV show when suddenly the volume level on my unit dropped by about 90%. Tried the test tone and all channels are working. However even at max volume the sound output is really low.
The "protector" message is not being displayed.
So the speakers and the individual amp channels work so that lets out the obvious big hardware items.
This is starting to sound like an obscure setting was set or changed by mistake.
It would be nice to figure out what that is/was in case it happens again but you may eventually have to resort to resetting the receiver to factory defaults and start over by holding the1/0 button for 5 seconds.

This is with any source, have tried it with a DVD, a CD and with the radio. Both front speakers have suddenly gone really quiet and tinny. If I change sound fields so that Pro-Logic turns on and the center becomes active, the center speaker sounds fine although the fronts are both still really low volume. Switch back to 2CH direct and the volume is almost unhearable.
Odd thing is that when I use the test tone - it sounds the same volume from each of Left, Center and Right speakers. (I don't have rears set up)
Hello
Seems to be from all sources - I have tried CD, DVD and radio. When used in 2CH mode the volume is really low. When I enable surround processing and the center becomes active (I don't have rear speakers) the center speaker sounds normal but both fronts have very little volume and sound tinny.
Odd thing is that when using the test tone all three speakers sound the same.
FYI the speakers are Mission 782s for L and R and a Mission 7C in the center.
Is it only TV or all sources?
