My sharp LCD 42 inch 42d62u does not come on. When I unplug it and plug it back in, the power light and OPC light is green and will flash twice simutaneously then the OPC will flash once. It keeps doing this no matter how long I leave it unplugged. What is the problem?

Press the power button on the TV and not the remote control.
It is possible the remote control's batteries are dead. If the TV does
turn on, you know you need to replace the remote's batteries.

Disconnect the power cable from the TV, then insert it into a
different electrical outlet. On occasion outlets are damaged, and do
not provide a power current. If this is the case, changing the
electrical outlet connection corrects the problem.

Switch the television's input to a different connection. It
may be possible you have the wrong input selected, causing the TV to
give off a black screen.

Connect a different source device (such as a DVD player or
cable receiver) to the television. If the source equipment is damaged,
you will not receive an image from the hardware. If the TV still does
not display an image, there is an electrical shortage in the interior of
the TV. To see if there is any way to fix this issue, you need to take
it into a local TV repair shop.
Fault protection mode.... More than likely you have blown Uf Caps on the PSB-Power supply board. Recap with new Uf caps. A few bucks, solder and a soldering iron.
I have two 46" Sharp Aquos tvs,so i know this tv model well.Tv have Power and OPC LED lights flashes?Yes.Tries tv unplug,replug it back like about an hour later.The tv should be working again.This problems happen to Sharp tv alots,later on,should it happen again,just tries push the power switch on the remote again and wait the backlight will light up and tv will work again,some it will go back to Power and OPC LED lights flashes again,just push power switch again and wait,sometimes,u have to do this three or four tines to make the tv Tuner signal board to take to make the tv to work again.If u have to pushes power switches 10 or 11 times and wait and Power and OPC LED flashes lights again,it time to replace the tv Tuner signal board,that the board,where that take the tv incomming broadcasting signal cable plug into it.Tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a refurbish tv Tuner signal board for the replacement.
Ur Tuner signal board have problems or dead.Ur power LED light indicator stable for a few mins before the power LED light,and the OPC LED light indicators flashes?After the POWER light and OPC light indicators flashes,just push the power button again for the power recycles again.Probally have to pushes the power button 3 or 4 for power light and opc light indicators flashes,the LCD backlght will lght up and work.Sharp tv have this problems alot,very common in Sharp LCD tvs.
This problems very common on Sharp Tv.Do ur tv LED power light turn on solid first.Few mins,than LED,OPC flahes.Power LED,OPC flashes,push power button again,do this at leat 5 or 6 times somtimes the backlight will come back on and work.The power LED,OPC light flashes,turn off/on more than 5 or 6 times don't work.Ur Tuner signal board is dead,must replaced.
First turn on,do the power LED light stable?Few sec.Power LED and LED OPC flashes?This very common on Sharp tv,tries power off/on at 4 or 5 each time it flashes,well power up have backlight on and it work.After this doesn't work than ur Tuner Signal board it dead.
Ur power light stable green first turn on?Then awhile click,POWER and OPC flashes.Tries on/off couple time,will work.Not then ur backlight video board is dead.
it has a problem with the main board, i would call the place you baught it, they will eather exchange your tv, or tell you to call sharp, at any rete, it is under manufacturers warinty, and everything is covered for a year
Same problem. TV worked night before and then would turn on but no picture or sound. Power and OPC lights blinking. I couldn't change the channel or get to the menu. I disconnected the coaxial cable and the power for a few minutes and then plugged it back in (electric) but left the cable off. I got a message that it couldn;t get a signal. At that point I was able to change the channels. I plugged the cable line back in and everything worked fine... Good luck!!!
