HP OfficeJet 9110 - Receive Fax Error 223

When receiving from specific fax machines, only cover page and error code page prints with Error Code 223. These pages print 5-6 copies before stopping.

Most faxes come thorugh fine. Just a few problem faxes...

Any info on the Error Code and any info on a fix?

    I have a 232 error message, when receive a fax, it prints ok, but after that prints an error page with this error, anyone knows something about it?

    My printer has exactly the same problem. I get the same error code and only the fax cover sheet will print. I am really hoping someone has a solution.

    I have the same problem with my hp 9110, I get an error message of 232 and it will just print the first page of the fax and the error msg a few times. I read somewhere that this is caused by faxes being sent from a colour fax machine but I don't know how to fix it. Can anyone help?

    I have exactly the same problem, I receive several copies of a coverpage but none of the following pages and the fax report says error 223. This is my first attempt to resolve the problem.

HP Officejet 9100 All-in-One Series - Changing the Fax Baud Rate Parameters Information It is possible to lower the transmission speed of the initial handshake of the HP Officejet 9100 to a lower value that may aid in compatibility and resolve 223, 232, and 283 errors. The following steps will walk you through configuring the setting. These are temporary settings. If the unit loses power, the settings need to be reconfigured. From the front panel:

  1. Press and hold the * key for 3 to 5 seconds until the display screen reads Test -001+ .
  2. Enter in 620 on the key board, and press the Check Mark and the screen will read Cfg param id:
  3. Enter the parameter ____ on the key board and press the Check Mark.
    • 159 - Receiving Fax baud rate
    • 153 - Transmitting Fax baud rate
    The screen will read Cfg param val: 26
  4. Enter in the value ____ and then press the Check Mark .
    • 0 = V.17 14400
    • 2 = V.17 9600
    • 6 = V.29 9600
    • 10 = V.27 2400
    Screen will read Test -001+
  5. Press the Reset button until you get back to Ready *

The receiving product has been unable to receive an entire page even after multiple attempts to rereceive the parts of the page that contain errors. This is usually due to extremely poor line conditions.

1. Reattempt the fax reception at a different time when telephone line conditions have improved.
2. If the error persists, disable ECM. Errors may still occur, and may result in degraded image quality on the received page. However, the ability to receive the entire document will be improved.

Error 244:

Definitions
  • The user of the remote machine pressed the Stop key, causing the session to be prematurely terminated.
  • The remote fax machine determined that there was a feature incompatibility between the two machines and terminated the session. For example, the local machine wanted to initiate polling, but the remote machine did not support this mode of operation.

Error code 322- There was a communication error with the receiving fax machine due to poor telephone line conditions.

Set the receiving machine to receive at a slower transmission speed
If the session fails after sending several pages of a large document, resend the document as several smaller documents.

Receiving error 388. Can receive faxes but won't connect with other fax machines when trying to send

There is too much noise on the line for a valid connection between two fax machines to complete. The noise problem might go away over time.

Solution

Fax problem

what type of fax is it? HP, Canon, brother etc?

HP error code 252 means.. . 252 Telephone line conditions were too poor to receive a fax.

*Reattempt the fax reception at a later time when line conditions may have improved.

*Configure the machine to start reception at a lower speed. *If the local machine received several pages of a larger document successfully, ask the remote user to transmit the document in several smaller parts.

Fax Error codes

Hi,

I have mentioned the Description for the error codes.388 and 421 error codes means the same and suggestion to resolve the problem.

282 - Retry the transmission.

388 - Reattempt the fax reception at a different time when telephone line conditions have improved.

421 - Reattempt the fax reception at a different time when telephone line conditions have improved.

233 - A communication failure has occurred between the two machines (OR) The user at the remote machine might have pressed the Stop button. (OR) Sometime Call waiting service might cause this error code.

  • Turn OFF the Error Correction mode(ECM).Steps to do. Push the menu/setup button ->Select Advanced fax setup-> press ok/Enter->Scroll Down to Error Correction mode(ECM) and highlight -> press ok/Enter->Select turn OFF-> press ok/Enter.At Last Press Cancel to quit the menu.
  • Decrease the Fax speed.Steps to do.Push the menu/setup button ->Select Advanced fax setup-> press ok/Enter->Scroll Down to" Fax speed"-> press ok/Enter-> Choose "Medium speed or slow speed ->press ok/Enter. At Last Press Cancel to quit the menu.

HP officejet 7210 fax error

HP Officejet 7210 All-In-One InkJet Printer
Error code: 405

When I send a fax I have a dial tone and the fax feeds through, I hear the other end answer it says it is sending and then I get the printed page that says: "A communication error occurred during the fax transmission."
