MY Amana is 12 years old. My vegetables and other products are freezing in the refrigerator part. What is the probem? The Temp Assure is at 1 1/2. Thanks.

Refrigerator temperature control set too cold or faulty Fresh Food thermistor.

Adjust refrigerator temperature control or check thermistor.

Change the thermostat

Those are notorious for that because the icemaker is in the refridge compaertment which is freezing inside of it. Try to adjust your temp settings so the items will not freeze. Sometimes you will have to set your temp setting around 45 or so. Another good idea is to put a thermometer in the fridge so you know exactly wht is going on in there.

I've had the same issue with an Amana BX21TL. In my case, the problem was that the various air flow adjustments were all directing the cold air to the bottom of the fridge, underneath the vegetable crispers.

What I've done to fix this was:
1- Made sure there was a tight seal between the vent opening at the back of the fridge (at about mid-height) and the rubber/plastic duct that directs air to the meat/cheese drawer.
2- Made sure that the adjustable opening at the back of the meat/cheese drawer was fully open.
3- Made sure that the adjustable opening at the back of both vegetable crispers were fully open.

You may have two mutually exclusive probems... one being the water dispenser doesn't dispense water... As you stated, the obvious remedy would be to replace your filter to see if that is restricting water flow.. secondly, your vegetable crisper is freezing vegetables... chances are that the inlet between the freezer compartment and that vegetable darwer is near there and the damper needs to be closed a bit... See if you can locate the cold air inlet vent and partially close the damper ... Hope that helps...

Air flow ports adjusted correctly? Air flow fan running? I once had a bad temp sensor on the freezer coil that would not let the fan run.

Try turning down the unit a half knotch, 1 full knotch at MAX, the cold air comes from the freezer to the refrig(fresh food) section, its rolls up the back of the wall to circulate it

A fridge that is to cold is usually shown when food nearest the back wall freezes( i get this call plenty times a day, this is the fix)

recommened freezer temp 0-5, fresh food(refrig) temp is 32-40
