I have a tappan range that keeps getting F1/F3 in on the display panel.

F3 error code indicates a open/shorted oven temperature sensor and to solve this problem the sensor needs replacement. If you wan to be sure before replacing the sensor then you can test it with a voltmeter for around 1100ohms....if it reads more then this then it needs replacement however, if the reading is around or less then 1100ohms then it is the control board that needs replacement. those failure codes usually mean the oven sensor is out of range or has an open circuit.
you can replace the sensor for about 50-75 bucks and that will allow the oven to heat properly again.
you wont need to do any reseting or clearing of the code, just fix the problem and that code will go away.

F3 code error indicates a bad oven temperature sensor (RTD). To fix this error, Check sensor harness and harness connection between oven sensor and oven control. If wiring is ok, replace the oven temperature sensor (RTD)

open the back and manually spin the motor for the latch arm it may need to be replaced

Delo, I am not finding that model number, what I have that is close is the model number tgf657bfw5, if this is your model number the F1 code is a bad electronic control, part number 318010300. If this is not your model number, just ignore this post...Catriver..post back
