Fuji's waterproof camera not waterproof, and they say that we must have opened the battery door while under water. They want $110 to fix the camera!!! The battery door leaks and they won't admit there is a problem. How do I find more people with this problem. The camera wasn't opened under water.

It's a gray area, your word against theirs. Unless you can find 100 people who have had the same problem, you have little chance of making a successful claim. Hopefully, the time will soon come when induction charging and Bluetooth will make it possible to build completely sealed underwater cameras.

SOURCE: My Fuji XP Waterproof camera says card protected

It's the memory card. SD and SDHC cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card. If the switch is already in the proper position, slide it fully the other way and then back again.
If that doesn't work, try another card.

Pentax optio w80 waterproof digital camera won't turn on

I had the same problem. I checked the voltage first to ensure it was greater than 3.7V (some batteries were not). I left the door open and pushed the battery down and pressed the button and it powered up. Seems to be a problem with the contacts. I put about 6 layers of duct tape on top of the battery to cause the door to push it down and now it works.

Cant get the battery door to open

Push the release lever(gray) toward rear of camera. At the same time place your fingernail under the cover in the middle of the camera and slide the compartment to the outside. The battery compartment cover can now be hinged upward per the diagram in the instruction manual.

Welcome to FixYa.

Before using the camera in under water, you have to secure that battery cover, card slot cover snd DC IN terminal cover are completely closed to prvent water from getting inside the camera and damaging it. Please note that the camera accessories are not waterproof.

Yes, Sanyo VPC-WH1 High Definition Camcorder is a waterproof camcorder, however you can not used it in all types of water. Below are the Cautions concerning use in water.

* The waterproof properties of the camera apply to fresh water and saltwater only. They do not apply to cleaning substances, chemicals or water from spas.
* Do not immerse in water at a depth greater that 3.0m (9.84ft)
* Do not subject the camera to high-pressure water.
* Do not immerse in water for longer than 60 minutes.
After 60 min. of use in water, allow it to dry for at least 10 min.
* Do not immerse in water that is warmer than 40 degree C.
* Do not open and close the battery cover, card slot cover or DC IN terminal cover with wet hands.
* Do not open and close the battery cover, card slot cover or DC IN terminal cover on the beach or at the poolside.
* Do not jolt the camera while it is immersed in water. doing so may cause the battery cover, card slot cover or DC IN terminal cover to open.

And one more thing that you have to do is to chaged/replaced the waterproof seals every year with new ones. For replacing the seals, please consult your dealer and take note that there is a fee for replacing the waterproof seals.

I hope this information will give you an idea on how to use your camera under water.

Feel free to send us your comments and suggestions.

Thank you for using FixYa.

I need to clean moisture spots inside the lens cover on my fuji finepix xp10 cammera. Can I easily open and reclose the waterproof cover if I get the correct torx screw driver?

I'm going to advise not tampering with the camera (don't open it or attempt to open it) This camera is one of those 4-way protected cameras and it's sealed, so it needs to got back to a Fuji service depot. Any attempt from an unauthorized person may void (cancel) any warranty that the camera may have. It's rare to even hear of a water problem with one of these cameras. Depending on where you are the service facilities are listed in the back of your manual I'd suggest contacting a facility (repair depot) before doing anything else.

Waterproof camera seems to not be working since the pool.

The camera is supposed to be waterproof to 10 feet for about an hour if the camera has never been subjected to any bumps or rough treatment. Can you say you followed those guidelines?

The FujiFilm XP10 is supposed to be shock resistant up to 3 feet. On accident, I dropped it, but it was only about a foot from the ground. Since then, every time I've turned it on, the screen has read zoom...

You probably can't, but Fuji probably can. Send it in as a warranty claim and you should receive either your camera back in a repaired state or a replacement for it. Fuji is usually able to determine whether the impact exceeds the impact resistant specifications or not.

Drowned waterproof camera !!??

I would take batteries out open camera the best you can and let it dry out for a week at least!! then replace battery and try again,Most times when it is fully dry the camera will start to work again! ! If that does not work I would contact the company! and even if the warranty is up they may still fix the problem for free or low cost!

Zoom on fuji f650 stuck

Hi Sandra, Try power reset for your camera. Turn the camera on, and without turning the camera off, open the battery door and take the batteries out. Leave it for a minute or two. This helps camera get reset and helps correct the basic functionality and also zoom error. Hope it helps u otherwise u will have to take it to authorised repair center. Good Luck.
