Are you using the original software (which was written before Windows 7) or the software posted on Kodak's website.

It is most likely due to the original software not being compatible with Windows 7. Go to the printer's manufacturer's website and look for "download drivers" or something similar. Download the drivers for Windows 7 (make sure you select 32 or 64 bit according to your computer) and install these drivers. If the printer is very old (4-5 or more years old), there may not be drivers available.

Uninstall the existing Lexmark X4270 printer driver from your Windows 7 by going the Start menu ? Programs ? Lexmark 4200 Series ? Tools ? Uninstall. Reboot pc when prompted. When pc turns on, check if your Windows 7 is running on 32-bit or 64-bit operating system by going to the Start menu ? right-click on Computer ? click on Properties. Take note of the system type.
Download and install the X4270 driver for Windows 7 using the links below:

I question your use of the word 'new' to describe a Win 7 computer, and with a camcorder that old, it will be impossible to find drivers for any OS later than XP.

There is no specific software required for the printer to work in Windows 7. When you plug it in Windows should find the driver in it's own driver data base and the printer should function. Below is a link to a Microsoft video explaining how to manually add the printer.

Alternately you can download and install the Vista drivers as recommend by Lexmark for Windows 7 use.

If attempting a reinstallation, uninstall the current printer driver first and follow the "Upgrading to Windows 7?" information.

If still face the same issue. Contact Kodak support for advance troubleshooting

Is this a brand new computer or did you upgrade to Windows 7? If you did an upgrade, you needed to uninstall the old drivers (with the printer disconnected from the computer). Then you could install Windows 7 and finally install the printer.

You can try unplugging the USB cable, uninstalling the printer and then reinstalling it.

What software are you using to create the file that you want to print? With Microsoft Office, I have seen reports that changing the font on a document can cure a failure to print the document with Word.
