For sure this is an error and could be a fault in the heater panel or the motor drive.
Must remove out and check if the fault goes off on disconnection of one of the above.
run it without the filter with a 1 part vinegar 4 parts water. then try it with a clean or new filter. You may need to run it a few (5-6) times before it stops shutting off by its self.
I don't know what CHO1 is either! My husband and I had the same problem a couple years ago. We just ended up buying a new one.
