Volume I have Jamo S 606 HCS 3 with Jamo SUB 250 connected to onkyo SR605. But I have to keep volume as high as 40. Why...the Auto Speaker Setup set the frequency which was very low and then I set it up Manually to +10 dB for all channel. Please advice optimum setup and guide how to set up properly.

I am having the same problem w/ a Definitive sub. Unless the volume is ~40 (sometimes I have to kick it to 50+, and then turn it down), the sub doesn't appear to receive a signal. I am trying to determine if it is the sub or the 605.

It's the receiver, same prob here. The level of bass through the sub is negligible too. So my guess is it's either related to the crossover or the passthrough in general.
Looking for a missetting or workaround.

Hi! I have purchased a JAMO S608 HCS 3 and a SUB 650 using an OKYO TX-SR508 Receiver. I can't set it up correctly. When I played music I've heard a lot of bass, I think there are some high...

The TX has speaker setup and test tones for setting the balance and distance with test tones and proving the hardware works. If that all works the difference is probably external or settings.

What is different between the music source(s) audio and the HD movie source(s) audio? Ask yourself, how would a sub make high frequencies go missing? It can't.

Your other speakers are responsible for conveying the high frequencies.

I wish to reduce the level of sound coming from the sub woofer. I cannot get the main menu up on screen by pressing reciever setup buttons. I have seen it done by a freind so I know it is possible what am...

On your remote control, first press the "RECEIVER" button followed by the "SETUP" button.

Here is a link to the user manual (bottom right corner of page): http://www.eu.onkyo.com/products/TX-SR605.html

From page 70 onwards it is explained how to set up the speaker levels.

Alternatively you could of course adjust the volume on the subwoofer itself. Most (active) subwoofers nowadays offer an output volume adjustment.

Good luck.

SUBWOOFER VOLUME PROBLEM

Make sure you have the sub connected to the proper output on the receiver and no connections are damaged.
Then check the gain/level control for the sub. on the receiver...turn it up if it's down.
Make sure that in speaker setup, that you have the selection for a sub turned on.

Reciever turns off

Powering off usually points to issues with speaker setup. You should read pages 42 and 96 of the 606 manual.

Page 42 covers impedence settings. Check your impedence settings for your speakers. The 606 handles speakers from 4 to 16 ohms. There are two impedence settings on the 606 - 4 ohms and 6 ohms. Set to 4 ohms if your speakers are 4 ohms or more but less than 6 ohms. Set to 6 ohms if your speakers sit between 6 and 16 ohms. Incorrect settings can result in the 606 going into power protection after prolonged use or at higher volume.

Page 96 covers testing for unexpected power protection. You should switch off your AV at source and leave for an hour. Disconnect all cables to speakers and other peripherals (TV, DVD et al). After an hour turn on AV and turn volume to MAX, If the AV remains on, turn down volume to min, switch off AV and reconnect all devices. Make sure the speaker cables are properly connected and that no bare wiring is exposed.

Once you have done this switch on the AV and turn to volume to MAX. If the AV stays on then problem solved. If the AV switches off then you should contact your supplier.

Onkyo TX-SR 606 KEEPS CLICKING INSTEAD OF TURNING ON WHEN POWERED

Here are your options:

1. An electrical problem, where your receiver has a grounding problem.
2. Your speaker wire connections are actually touching each other and that's why your receiver is not turning on.

JAMO SUB 650

hi

since it is a powered speaker, probably it just needs a sound signal which you can get from the headphone socket. please double check with someone else.

Onkyo HT-R530 with powered speakers

I would not suggest hooking up powered speakers to your receiver. Only if unit has sub woofer output can you hook up powered speaker
