Ok the neck is chipped or the broke off. The purple piece is the Barb that holds the head on. If you really don't want to buy a new one you can soak the head in hot water for 3 to 5 minutes and then it will be soft enough to work with. You should be able to now take tweezers or needle nose plyers and remove anything stuck in the head.now if the purple piece won't stay in the neck anymore you can take hot glue and put a little into the hole in the top of the neck and put a screw with a washer on it into the glue.the washer has to be slightly larger the the hole in Barbie's head once the glue dries. Take Barbie's head and soak it in hot water 3 to 5 minutes and work it over the washer .the hot glue should hold the screw very solid if done right and the washer will allow the head to spin still. If it is an older one you can use a round wooden bead instead of the washer and it should last a long time. My daughter pulls the heads off and interchanges them and the screw hasn't come out yet.
The best thing to do is just get it all together, get some strong super glue and hope for the best really. Or just go buy another one!
