I have seen this issue a couple times during my time as a pc tech. The solution we came up with was a complete reload. Mainly because in the instance's we've seen the issue was caused by a shutdown during a system restore. You may even try to do a windows repair from the CD.
Hope this help.
Please give more info about this.
Try to reformat your Hard Drive and install it againg freshly. This might do the work.
Hello,
The checksum is a long number that is computed. This sounds like maybe your cpu is bad or going bad. You don't provide enough information to determine a solution. So...
If you are trying to install Windows and you get this error, your memory may be bad (google for memtest86), your CPU may be bad, or your CD/DVD drive may be bad. Try the easiest first. Test your memory and change your CD/DVD drive.
If Windows is already installed, your memory or CPU is bad. Test your memory. If it's good, I would have to assume the CPU is bad.
Hope that helps.

Bad image checksum The header checksum does not match the computed
checksum. I have tried starting the computer in safe mode, DOS, and
restore and nothing works. It still repeats the same message.
